ARP 2600 with ARP 3604-P Keyboard

“Up for sale, a circa 1975 ARP 2600 model 2601 V1.0 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with a 3604-P monophonic keyboard controller. Widely considered one of the greatest, most influential and most important analog synthesizers of all time, the ARP 2600 has been played by a vast array of artists including Joy Division, Stevie Wonder, Chemical Brothers, and Nine Inch Nails, to name just a few, and has also enjoyed a storied history in Hollywood sound effects creation, including at Skywalker Sound to create the original vocalizations for R2-D2. This particular iteration, the 2601 V1.0, was produced from 1975-76, identified by the small trim pot holes and improved jacks.

Freshly serviced by Synapse Audio Systems, this 2600 benefits from a rebuilt ringmod board, recapped as necessary and fully calibrated. The bus bars and j-wires have all been cleaned, and the keybed on the controller has been fully cleaned with all new bushings. The sliders are all original and a few have been rebuilt. All sliders benefit from a chemical cleaning, yet a small amount of noise over time is normal, given the originality of the componentry.

Designed as a more compact, intuitive rival to Moogs modular systems, the ARP 2600 is a paragon of analog subtractive synthesis, featuring a totally analog signal path with three oscillators, one 24 dB/oct filter, one ADSR envelope, one VCA, and one Mixer section. Additional features include an envelope follower, ring modulator, noise generator, LFO with sample and hold, built-in spring reverb, and a pre-amplifier with onboard stereo speaker. Originally marketed to high schools and universities upon its original release, the control layout of the ARP 2600 was designed with one fixed, consistent design (as opposed to the custom-built modular systems of the era) that was more immediately understandable while still rewarding users with plenty to unpack and expand upon. While the semi-modular system has a fixed selection of pre-wired modules, most connections can be re-wired at the bevy of patch points. As such, there’s plenty of nitty-gritty tweaking to be had, with loads of sliders and switches to satisfy any sonic sculptor.

The 3604-P monophonic keyboard controller was actually introduced alongside the previous generation of ARP 2600 (the 2600P), and was acquired independently of thia 2601, which was sold with the duophonic 3620 keyboard that had been introduced the year prior. The 49-key keyboard features Variable and Fixed Tone Interval controls, with a two-way switch to toggle between the two, as well as Tuning and Portamento knobs (each with a two-way on/off mini-toggle). All of the keys are responde venly, and all three original knobs are present.

Cosmetic wear on the ARP 2600 itself is very limited, with just a few tiny scuffs on the exterior of the “suitcase”-style case, which has been fitted with a new handle. The keyboard controller shows some light hardware patina and wear on the enclosure edges.

The original 8-pin controller-to-synth DIN cable and power cord are included.”

ARP Odyssey

“Forget all your modern day ARP Odyssey reproductions – this is the real deal and a great example of a legendary vintage synth from the late 1970s.

This is your chance to own a piece of music history!

I have owned this fantastic synth for many years and it has been well looked after in my smoke and pet-free home studio before being stored in its flight case.

The Odyssey has CV and Gate ports which means it can be used with a step sequencer, or a MIDI sequencer if you happen to own a MIDI to CV converter (note: I am selling a Kenton Pro 2 separately).

I also comes with a very sturdy flight case, original manual, patch book and printed service manual.

The keys are even and they all play fine, however please note one of the slider caps is missing (see pics). This doesn’t affect playability at all and replacements can be easily sourced online. The sliders are nice and smooth, however one or two sound slightly noisy when moved – not unexpected for a synth that’s getting on for 50 years old and easily remedied.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Quadra

“This Arp Quadra has been rebuilt, new PSUs, new LED sliders, new membrane, whole nine yards. It sounds great, I just don’t have the space for it and need to downsize.

Work was completed by Josh Snider at Amplexus music in Kitchener.

He took every board out, scrubbed the shit out of the chassis, disinfected it, put it all back together again, new wiring harness, full recap of everything and the kitchen sink, new key bushings, new led sliders, levelled the key bed, new aftertouch sensor.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Pro DGX

“Selling a fully working ARP Pro-DGX Monophonic Analog Synthesizer 1977 – 1980 – Black / Orange

I’ve had this in storage for years (inherited it from a friend as it was faulty) but recently met an engineer that restored the synth to full working order, including 3d printing some of the knobs.

Other than cosmetic blemishes (see photos) and a slightly scratchy volume knob (which will settle down with use), it’s in good condition.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

“Vintage Arp Axxe 2310 analog synthesizer. This synthesizer powers up and creates multitudes of sounds. I have had fun playing with it but in truth I’m a guitar player and don’t really know its potential.

Serial #157

Cosmetically it’s in pretty good condition for an instrument considering it’s age even the wood sides are nice.

Feel free to ask any additional questions or request any additional photos, I would be happy to oblige.

Being such a vintage piece this is being sold as is with no returns. It will be carefully packed to assure safe delivery.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Odyssey

“This one is in very excellent cosmetic condition and working 100%. It has just been professionally serviced and with a lot of restoration. This is the less common, black face 2800 as you can see. All other 2800s made prior to these were white. 2800’s never left the factory with the cv/gate interface like the other revisions made afterwards. This one had been updated by ARP at some point in it’s history. It will be properly packaged when sold and will arrive in the condition as stated. Proof of the actual shipping cost will be provided if needed. This unit is listed as a USA sale only, but I am willing to ship to other countries. Not sold as-is!

Cosmetically- Nothing is mint in my opinion and this one is no exception. There are plenty of imperfections here & there, but it still looks excellent to me. Please check out the photos. It has some new aftermarket slider caps that fit the Bourns sliders perfectly, it also has new screws and new Switchcraft washers & nuts.

Internally- Apart from any repairs, the unit has been disassembled and cleaned, all sliders replaced with new, high precision Bourns sliders, the power supply has been rebuilt (all electrolytic, tantalum, & axial capacitors replaced), all tantalum capacitors replaced throughout the unit, replaced RCA CMOS ICs, it has new slider dust covers, the high output RCA jack has been replaced with a new Switchcraft 1/4″ mono jack, the keyboard has been rebuilt with new bushings, the buss-bars have been polished (no Caig or pencil eraser treatment), and its been completely scaled & calibrated. This may be updated!” Click here to visit listing on eBay

item is sold AS-IS as described i am exposing the flaw and it cannot be returned. NO REFUNDS NO RETURNS as the freight is a killer this is a heave one.

as you can see from the pictures this item has been painted black and textured coated to make it road worthy. And . i think i know who the original owner was but have not been able to confirm but he is from a popular 70-80’s band.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Omni Project Machine

“This vintage Arp Omni 1 Synthesizer Keyboard from the 70s/80s is an iconic piece of musical equipment. The instrument consists of 49 synth keys (black + white) and is perfect for creating unique sounds and music. The keyboard is in need of repair work and is sold as spares or repairs only. As you can see in the photographs, the synth powers on but have had it plugged into a guitar amp and seems to be no sound. There is, however, power getting to the unit. The synth does sport quite a few various marks and scratches as well as a broken key that’s been glued. Also there is a couple of the adjuster knobs missing. ARP Odyssey

“Original Arp Odyssey white face MKI 2800, with custom flight case.

This one is not mint, but functionally it is very good. Everything works.

It does suffer from old sliders, generally the throw is inconsistent. What I mean by that is that some are slightly stiffer than others. Perfectly useable, but not perfect. If they haven’t been used for a while they can make one or both the oscillators warble a bit, so they need moving about to settle down. To be honest though, I don’t even know why I’m mentioning it. I just want you to know what your buying, rather than saying ‘In Good condition.’ and leaving it like that.

Cosmetically it’s not the best, with some paint scuffs here and there, I still have all the slider caps except one, but a lot of them are split or splitting and come off so easily, I set them aside! I did have a few spare caps but never fitted them myself, I have no idea where I put them, but I’m hoping they’ll turn up!

Runs on US voltage, I will supply the small step down transformer pictured.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Quartet

“ARP Quartet Polyphonic Analogue Synthesizer.

I bought this originally because the string sounds from it were used on several records that i like. It’s a pretty simple little synth but it sounds every bit of the 1970’s that it should. I haven’t used it in ages but remembered when i hooked it up to take some photos for eBay i found that the ‘honky tonk’ slider does absolutely nothing (i think it’s fair to assume that particular sound is horrific…). All the other presets and blends seem to be working fine. Polyphony and keys are fine too. The brass ‘attack’ and ‘briliance’ are quite hit and miss so i expect that those could do with a clean.

I’m only selling this because i’m (reluctantly) trying to scale my studio down ahead of a house (and studio) move. This ARP spends most of it’s time sitting on it’s side with a couple of other synths and i just feel it would enjoy a slightly more frequent deployment elsewhere.

Selling as is, and not taking returns given it has a couple of niggles and tbh i have generally steered clear of eBay of late thanks to the number of sham buyers and scammers making it a drag. Sold in good faith as a decent wee synth probably needing a little TLC….!” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Quartet

“The ARP Quartet was a rebadged Siel Orchestra – a very versatile analog 49 note polyphonic synthesizer from 1979. While the settings may look fairly simple, a complex array of sounds can be created via different combinations of presets, an LFO, ADSR, a two pole voltage controlled filter, and triple analog BBD delay lines as found in the ARP String Ensemble/Solina, ARP Omni 1 & 2, and ARP Quadra.

Mix and match between any combination of the four tone color families (Brass, String, Organ, Piano), eight instrument presets (Trumpet, Trombone, Cello, Violin, Organ, Celeste, Piano, and Honky Tonk), and several settings that are available depending on your combination of instrument families. Please view photos and research this vintage equipment on its versatility tremendous sounds made in Italy. Thank you very much”

ARP Axxe

“This MUSICIAN’S DREAM-GEAR is FULLY FUNCTIONAL, and I would say it is in EXCELLENT condition! (especially for its age!) However, and respectfully, since everyone has different standards, please don’t take my word for it; I’ll let the pictures do the talking. 🙂

I am sure that if you are looking at this item, you know everything about it. So, I will just tell you about this particular gem:

IT HAS JUST BEEN FULLY SERVICED!
The following services were just done, which cost me over $400! IF you find another one for less than what mine is selling for, and since most of the used ones out there, that are supposed to be “fully functional”, turn out NOT to be; you will then need to find someone who would work on these (which is very rare nowadays), and then who knows how much it would cost to make it fully functional??! Especially since these synths are over 45 years old, which means unless they had just been serviced, hardly any of them would be fully functional; and CONDITION IS EVERYTHING!

SERVICES DONE:

Full inspection
Key-bed fully serviced (which I was told it was a PAIN! 😄)
ALL sliders serviced
Some capacitors replaced
ALL switches/buttons serviced
ALL contacts cleaned
Cleaned inside and out

THIS IS AN AWESOME SYNTH! It is PURE HEAVEN; WITH SCREAMING LEADS, BIG, PHHHHAT, JUICY, … All the way from the 70’s!!!” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Axxe

“This is an Arp Axxe vintage analog synthesizer.
It sounds beautiful! (check out the video). I owned all three versions of the Axxe and in my opinion this one is the best sounding one.

Overall in a good working condition with a few small issues so please read carefully.

A couple of the sliders don’t track very well – I believe it’s the S&H slider, the pulse width and the filter modulation LFO slider. They will not change values until reached a certain point so if you wanted these to work perfectly, they will need to be cleaned or replaced.
One of the keys occasionally doesn’t track well. I believe it’s either the high A or A flat. (forgive me, I should have wrote it down when demoing).

Please be aware that this is a 50 years old synth and as expected, some of the sliders might move less smooth than others. Same goes to the touch of keys). ” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP 2600 with ARP 3620

“OK, here it is – an original ’70’s classic analogue synth…the much revered

ARP 2600.

This unit, to be more precise, is a 2601 which puts it in the mid ’70’s in terms of version. How cool??? AND comes with the 3620 duo-phonic keyboard with lfo and latch functionality.

If you don’t know about this machine already – please look it up, there loads out there about this classic machine…i mean….3 ocs’s!!?!?!?!?!??! It really is a fun machine to either ‘learn’ how synthesis works, OR, just muck around and become R2D2!

Does this sound better than the re-models? Well, im bound to say yes, but really, yes!

Vintage – case is in amazing condition…in fact it all is, barely a mark on any of it. AND recently serviced in the UK by a synth genius who knows his poop he said ‘wow, this one is in great condition’.” Click here to visit listing on eBay
