“This is a freshly inspected, cleaned and tested unit. The PCB was thoroughly inspected and repaired. Q701 (2N3392), IC701 (LM556CN) and IC301 (LM1458) where replaced and IC404 was reseated ( one pin was bent ). I put on a new power cord. The J wires for the keys where cleaned. This unit has removable covers on the bottom so you can easily clean and adjust the key contacts. All functions have been tested and work 100%. Cosmetically it is very clean. It is ready to rock. “1978 Micromoog in great cosmetic condition but has some functional issues. This was part of a large studio buyout. They had it in a “C” room, not in storage. Its been tested slightly.. not tested in depth.

All keys played / triggered good and pitch was stable.. was able to make a killer bass and lead sound!

BUT Audio was only emitted when the last BYPASS switch was engaged.. i believe that switch bypasses the Envelope section? Not sure.. anyhow, that should be looked at. Also Mod wheel seemed off.. not engaging proper.

missing small front sticker, but back sticker is in excellent condition.
Missing right side brass fastener.
Power cord fraying at base but fully functional as is. One key has small hard to see blemish.
A few minor buffs and scratches from seldom use, always used and stored with respect care.

“I’m selling my beloved 1978 Micromoog synthesizer, as I’m moving to a smaller place. Everything works. I’ve had it since 1997. I’ve done some maintenance (new ribbon controller, some ICs, contact cleaning) over the years, and have kept it well-stored inside my home the entire time. It’s usable as-is, or you could do a fresh cleaning / refurb to get it to near-new condition.

“1975 Micro Moog 2090 serial #1334, turns on and works with sound, will need full cleaning/service but as it is, sound and effects work, keys contact points will need cleaning but for the most part they all function, cosmetically in fair condition for its age. At the very least you will need to recap the power supply, check all the other caps and clean all the contacts on the keyboard. Not for the faint of heart. “Not an expert but have played it for awhile. Minor cosmetic damage to side faux wood panel (shown in pitcher) guessing it was made in 1975. Hard to read serial number. Model 2090. Sounds awesome but I just don’t have the time anymore to play. All functions work to my knowledge. Pitch strip and mod wheel both work and are fun to mess with. ”

“This synthesizer is in good condition for a workhorse synthesizer from April 1978. One screw is missing from the bottom due to damage to the particle board base, and the metal trim on the case has minor damage at some points (see photos). There is a dead zone between 0 and -3 on the filter contour pot, and sometimes the loudness and filter sustain switches can be touchy.”

Clean and tidy and in very good condition. All components are present.

Recently serviced by a most competent electronics guy (but not moog expert). Replaced a missing chip for the Noise Level Knob and a general internal clean and tidy up. All appears to operate as it should – at least to my non expert ear – all the knobs and switches change the noises it makes… some of the bolts/screws on the bottom are his replacements for absent originals.

Bought back in the early 1990’s for a particular song and then in storage since.”

“For your consideration is a Moog Micromoog vintage analog synthesizer in remarkable condition. The instrument was disassembled, cleaned, and verified for complete and correct functionality. All keys, knobs and switch caps were removed, washed and replaced. All potentiometers were sprayed with electronics cleaner and perform smoothly. The action plays extremely well with no glitchiness at all. The key bushings were deemed to not need replacement. The unit has been calibrated to perfection and plays completely in tune.

The sound is proper vintage Moog, fat, round and squishy. Due to a few well conceived features (wide oscillator frequency control, variable and modulatable waveshape, sample and hold LFO waveform, modulation wheel control of the filter frequency) this synth is capable of sounds and effects unattainable by even the venerable Minimoog.

The Moog logo in front is intact. There is a subtle crack in the frame at the end of the top key, shaped in such a way that it is not easily noticed. It was there when I first purchased the instrument. There is an additional 1/4″ hole in the rear panel, probably for an attempted modification by the previous owner that never materialized.”

“This item came from an estate. It does work. Sounds are abundant, The pitch ribbon needs to be replaced, also the power light is pushed in. I used contact cleaner on the controls and it helped greatly. I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to these units, so it is being SOLD AS IS. All the key operated. There is some waves in the plastic, however, it still seals. There is an area of vinyl that’s pealing up.”

“Up for auction is a super clean vintage 1976 Moog Model 2090 MicroMoog!

This instrument is as close to NOS as you will be able to find. It comes with the original Box, Original Warranty sheet, Inspection card and Original store advertising sheet.

Mechanically the synth was just fully electronically restored. The work included:

– replace regulator IC
– replace TIP transistors (2)
– replace bridge diodes
– replace tantalum capacitors
– replace axial electrolytic caps
– re-solder Molex header
– new thermal paste on regulators
– repair “doubling” circuit
– replace all elecrolytic caps
– replace all “black bullet” tantalum caps
– remove and polish bus car
– replace keyboard bushings
– clean and align all Jwires
– clean all keytops
– clean and align keyframe 2
– resolder all molex headers
– relube all pots
– clean switches
– clean front panel
– clean knobs
– cal supply
– touch up cal VCO
– test CV/Gate and audio input – ok
– test all functions – ok
