“Listed as for parts not working, but currently is working – let me explain….
Prior to a recent house move the unit was working fine, a few scratchy pots, could have done with a service to make it tip top, but everything worked as it should.
The unit must have taken a knock during the house move as when I set it up there was a nasty distorted hum coming from the output that rendered the sound unusable. Bummer…
I have left the synth alone for a few days and then re-tested it. The hum had gone, the sound was fine. I played it for about 30 mins with no issue. Result…
I have powered up the unit tonight, and again it is fine.
So, I feel it’s best to list as parts not working, as it has displayed a fault, which may just be a loose connection somewhere- I don’t know I am not electronically minded. But as it stands now, the item is fine. I have started the auction at a low price to reflect the fact that this synth has issues that may or may not become evident upon receipt.
All that said, this is a nice simple vintage synth with PWM, 2 types of noise and envelopes for filter and amp. The tuning is super stable for a vintage unit, it has portamento and vibrato, has a sound of its own, and looks great.
