“I’ve had this for 10 years or so. As far as I know, everything works: I’ve loaded presets to/from the computer and used the card slots (no cards included). I am not a professional musician/producer, but I’ve some experience with synths, and I have edited presets from scratch on this.

Two minor (removeable) additions:

The index card taped over the button pad just helped me to program faster, so I didn’t have to refer to the manual so much. Obviously removeable. The “CD Wheel” was my method for getting another modulation source into the machine. I did not have a KORG pedal, which would need a LOGARITHMIC pot to scale properly. I used a couple of pedals with it (M-Audio/Yamaha FC-7), but the response was less than linear. I adapted a LOG pot to my FC-7 and it worked great, but looks like shit so I won’t even show you that. But, since I had two log pots, I put one on top. When plugged into “Ass. Pedal” 1 or 2 (no kidding!), it becomes a high resolution data entry wheel. Can be assigned to Filter Cutoff, Release, whatever. It IS COMPLETELY REMOVEABLE, just stuck on with foam tape. But you might want to try it first. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay

“Unit powers on, but the fifth black key from the left stays down when pressed it continues to make a sound until you pull it up. All of the other keys work. We are unable to test any further. For this reason, we are selling the unit AS-IS for parts/repair as a non-working or incomplete unit.

Number 8 patch button is missing, though it’s probably inside

All Buttons and Sliders appear to still work OK

I have absolutely No Idea why it doesn’t send Audio to the Outputs.

“Korg M1 wavetable synthesizer keyboard. Up for sale is a Korg M1 synthesizer keyboard. The unit will need some restoration work however it is still in playable condition. The middle E flat key needs to have a spring replaced and some of the presets don’t seem to align properly. I was able to toggle through up to 50 preinstalled presets and access almost all the sounds but some of them such as no. 7 (harp) was not accessible and a couple of the others seemed mismatched i.e. the preset no.17 was labeled as chorale but seemed closer to the organ sound made famous by Crystal Waters “Gypsy Woman”. Also several months ago the synh was experiencing some clipping sounds if the volume was turned up too high or if I progressed through the presets too quickly. Thankfully this has seemed to stop but I wanted to make mention of it. The joystick is in good functioning condition. The edit and demo mode also seem to be working as should. “Korg M1 vintage workstation / synthesizer + case. Needs some attention

I’m selling this on behalf of Leeds music-based mental health charity Cloth Cat and any money will go to them. I’m afraid this means I don’t know much about it as I don’t own it and we don’t know its history. It’s been knocking around for a while.

The summary is that it looks OK but has lost most of its sounds. It occasionally takes a while to come on(when the display shows a row of green rectangles for a while).

When it comes on, the display reads ‘Init Prog’ and plays a piano sound. When in the ‘Global’ menu there’s also a drum kit sound. After a look on the internet I’ve concluded that it’s lost its factory sounds, the most likely reason being that the internal battery has run out at some point.

So…I downloaded the sounds from the Korg website and got a midi / USB cable and some software and tried reloading the sounds following a YouTube video (after fitting a new internal battery following another YouTube video). And it hasn’t worked – like the information wasn’t going in or wasn’t being saved for some reason. There aren’t very many videos showing you what to do and it could be operator error or something missing in the instructions I have – or something wrong with the thing itself. But we need to sell this ‘as is’ with no returns – so you might just know what to do or it might need serious attention.

More negative stuff: The case isn’t in great condition and one of the 2 combination locks on the case has been broken – though I do have the numbers and it holds closed on one side. The knob on the end of pitch wheel seems to be missing and most of the retaining screws both externally and internally have gone – there are justenough to hold everything in place. And we I don’t have any sound or memory cards for this I’m afraid.”

I was gifted this synth as I was desperate for a new keyboard. Sadly it is of no use to me as I actually needed a weighted piano to do some session work with. I have no idea how to use this but I have plugged it in with some headphones and I have played it but that’s as far as my technical expertise goes! 😂 It was definitely working perfectly when my friend had it so I assume that nothing has changed.

I have had this keyboard since about 1999 and used it regularly for shows and recording until recently. It has quite a few knocks and scratches on the body, all cosmetic (and mostly occurring before I bought it) please see photos. They keys are all working and in good condition.

I replaced the memory battery a few years ago and restored the factory presets. All keys working. All buttons working but sometimes you do need to press them firmly. I have never used the sequencer, but there are some stored tracks that play.

Selling now as I no longer use it. Flight case is in good condition with some knocks as you would expect. The catches and handles are a bit corroded but all in working condition.”
