The synthesizer works great, all keys respond perfectly and have excellent action, all features and functions work perfectly, good LCD screen and good LED lights, wheels respond perfectly, all programs work, cartridge reader works.

The DX7 shows normal wear, some wear on the area by the wheels, some wear on the control areas, some minor scuffs, but there are no dents, no dings, no cracks, all keys are perfect, keys are straight, the unit is very clean…..please see all photos.
The Calzone case is in good condition showing wear and age on the outside, the inner foam is in excellent condition and is still very firm, the latches work perfectly, no key.

This Yamaha DX7 is in good overall condition and working as intended. However, there are a few small issues to note:

Membrane cracks: Two buttons on the front panel have cracked membranes, leaving them exposed. The buttons still function properly, although they feel slightly less responsive compared to the others.
Key damage: Three keys have cosmetic damage due to melting. However, these imperfections do not affect the performance or playability of the keyboard.

“I have for sale a vintage Yamaha DX7 synthesizer from 1985 in absolutely pristine condition. It is immaculately clean, fully functional, and has been given a thorough assessment by a technician who granted the keyboard a clean bill of health.

The keys are bright white (with no yellowing), fully responsive, and still have that iconic “80s Yamaha feel” to them. All of the membrane buttons are fully functional and completely responsive as well.

The DX7 is THE sound of the 80s, but it doesn’t stop there. The DX7 is still considered to be a studio staple that you can find in almost any big, professional music production studio nowadays.

DX7 keyboards still seem to be selling online for around the $500 range, at least for ones that are in excellent condition like this one that I am selling. Units that are more battered (especially given the age of the DX7) obviously sell for less.
