This process required 40 hours of skilled vintage synth tech and was done to the highest standards. A very versatile analogue 49 note polyphonic synthesizer from 1980.
While the settings may look fairly simple, a complex array of sounds can be created via different combinations of presets, an LFO, ADSR, and a two pole voltage controlled filter.
Mix and match between any combination of the four tone colour families (Brass, String, Organ, Piano), eight instrument presets (Trumpet, Trombone, Cello, Violin, Organ, Celeste, Piano and Honky Tonk) and several settings that are available depending on your combination of instrument families:
– ADSR – Attack, Sustain, Brass Attack & Brass Sustain
– LFO – Vibrato & Vibrato Speed
– VCF – Brilliance

In overall very good physical condition considering the age (manufactured between 1979-80).

“Arp Omni 2483 Synthesizer
Powers on and all keys work, a few buttons are broken off but still function but are sometimes a bit sticky. I’m no expert so can’t tell if all the synthesizer functions work but it does play. Case is rough, most of the foam has disintegrated.
From previous owner “This has been in storage for many years and is in need of a deep cleaning and rebuild for proper operation. No broken keys or sliders but it is missing some of the slider caps. It features solid walnut end caps and comes with the original Owner’s Manual, expression pedal and custom Anvil road case. The road case foam has deteriorated in storage and will need to be replaced. “This belonged to a friend who has sadly passed away. His elderly mother has asked me to sell it for her. I have powered it up and plugged it into an amplifier and it makes all sorts of strange funky sounds. All the keys works and the cosmetics are excellent with no signs of damaged or wear. The shipping case has a bit of wear and care as expected. It is 43 years old Electronics so I would advise an electrical safety check just be safe. It will be packed with care and insured.”

“This is an Arp Axxe vintage analog synthesizer.
It sounds beautiful! (check out the video).
Overall in a good working condition.
I noticed that the keyboard has slight tracking issues every now and then (when jumping from one key to another you’ll sometimes hear the pitch “sliding” from one note to the other) and some keys might double trigger every now and then. Nothing major. I’m sure it’s an easy fix in case it will bother you.
3 of the slider rubber caps are missing. This doesn’t affect the functionality and the sliders can be easily moved without it.
Cosmetically, there are some signs of wear. Scratches, marks etc.
The right wood panel has a big chip.
The bottom board has a small chip around the corner (see photos).
Overall it’s in nice condition.

The power section is puting out +-15 v, but I don’t have time to further troubleshoot. old Anvil Case with handles and straps. Foam in decent shape (no rot) . Sliders move cleanly, but are dry. All caps on the voice boards have been replaced.
Chips have been replaced.
The ensemble unit has been repaired as have the bass notes.
Cosmetically the synth does have scratches and paint chipped due to being left disused by the previous owners. The side wood panels have some knocks and chips as you can see from the photos.

“Had this ARP synth in the studio for a couple of years. Never really used it as I am a guitarist. But I thought it was very cool, just love anything analog. Time to let some other folks get their turn on this oldie but goodie!
Overall condition is good, no damage and it does fire right up and work. Just what all the functions do, I have no clue. But if you move a slider or turn a knob, it does alter the tone. Keeping in mind this synth is probably over 50 years old, there are some items buyer should be aware of. The front of the ARP used to have gold colored marking on the controls. These have for the most part either faded away over time or were possibly rubbed away. Not a problem as there are detailed pics all over the net of what each control is supposed to do. A few of the original screws have been replaced as well as a few slider tips and knobs. A few of the keys, while they work fine, are just a tad higher/lower than the others. “This third gen Arp Odyssey is in very good physical condition. 2 of the slider caps are missing, but should be easily obtainable. There is some loose material on the right rear side of the synth. All sliders have been thoroughly cleaned and work as they should. All switches and keys work perfectly. The accompanying road case is in very good condition and the foam is still holding up well. There are two modifications: a two position switch in the upper right side of the panel, which is used to change from singe and dual voice mode. Also, there is a rotary knob on the left side, the function of which is not clear to me.
