“I originally bought this as the TX-216, and then added 2 more of the TF modules to make it a TX-416. I’m the original owner, and it’s only ever been used in my smoke-free, personal studio. It has some scratches on top from being repositioned in different rack configurations and a couple small scratches on the front, but other than that, it’s been gently used. Mostly it’s been unplugged while mounted in the rack for the last 17 years. I even have the original manuals. Please note, the closeup photos make the displays look like they’re funky, but it’s just the bad lighting. The displays all work great and look completely normal. The more distant photo does a better job of showing them.
I’ve tested all it’s core functionality – midi inputs on front and back and all audio outputs. I replaced the memory batteries in all 4 modules. All 4 modules are working great. I was able to get my old Opcode’s Galaxy Librarian software working, and I’ve loaded up all 4 modules with my favorite DX7 patches – an array of electronic pianos, organs, basses, percussive tones, bells, flutes, brass, and synth pads. I tried to pick the type of sounds that made the DX7 so distinctive. Hopefully you also have librarian/editor software and can load your own favorite sounds. If you have Opcode’s Galaxy Librarian, I’d be happy to send you my entire library. I have thousands of DX7 patches.
The DX7 and TX modules were always my favorite synths, and it’s hard to say goodbye to this old friend, but I know that if you’re looking for one of these, then you’re a die-hard fan of these sounds too.” Click here to visit listing on eBay
