“CONDITION: Perfect operation condition. DETAILS: In June 2018 I installed a new floppy drive, as the belt on the previous floppy had given out, which I understand is a common problem with VL1-Ms. (The new drive is “new old stock; they don’t make them any more.) I understand floppy functionality is pretty much a non-issue unless you’re seriously into voice programming, really, in any case, because once you have all the best voices installed, you don’t need to use the floppy anyway, or you can load and unload via MIDI, but I figured a buyer would want a working drive. I’ve tested the VL1-M since installing the new drive and it works perfectly, and the replacement drive is identical visually to the original as it sits within the front panel. Also — some years ago I managed to break the headphone volume knob. I glued the knob back together (this was all easily done without disassembly; all was outside the enclosure) and it’s worked perfectly ever since; there’s no visual or tactile cue it ever happened. ” Travel back in time with this vintage synthesizer. I don’t know much about it. The keyboard unit is 37 keys. It is a kit unit. I cannot even figure out where the power switch is, let alone the amplifier output jack. I got it from an electronics engineer who never once used it, who got it from another electronics engineer who apparently assembled it in the 1970s.
“I purchased this new in the early 90s. Time to let it go. I recently spent about 10+ hours of time with this unit transfering old song parts to the computer, consequently I know it’s working just fine. It’s in excellent condition. There is a security plate attached to the bottom of the unit that I used to secure the keyboard at a live gig. I’ve also etched out (removed) my name and ID number that I engraved on the bottom of the unit. Original AC Adapter included along with the original manuals. Happy bidding.”

Cosmetically the top, sides, and back are in excellent shape for its age, with only some minor dings and scratches, but the bottom is scratched and chipped as shown in the pictures. Functionally, it sounds great, all the keys work, and most functions work properly, except for the frequency knob (no response) (but the master tune works fine), and the ribbon controller (no response; broken on one end).
