” Yamaha CS01 vintage analog monophonic synthesizer. This synth is mostly broken, and is really suitable only for parts, or only if you really like the sound of an analog keyboard that’s on its last legs.
The good news is that there are no dead keys and the outputs work.
Here’s what’s broken that I’m able to identify:
• The internal speaker is not in great shape.
• There is a quiet (but noticeable), high-pitched tone at all times, modulating up and down in pitch, like a quiet siren.
• The white noise generator is broken in a way that affects overall operation. It doesn’t reliably produce white noise on its own. In addition, an amount of white noise comes and goes at random (and especially when adjusting the VCF EG slider), even while using other wave forms (triangle, pulse, and so on). The sound is akin to laptop speakers failing.
• The VCF EG slider doesn’t seem to apply any kind of envelope to the filter: just random white noise.
• The VCO Pitch slider I believe is broken.

“Excellent condition original early 70s Mk1 White ARP Odyssey – easily the best sounding revision with the original “lawsuit” Moog clone filter. This one is very fine physical condition with a nice bright white panel and keys and all slider caps intact. It works perfectly, tunes up fast and sounds absolutely huge. It was serviced a few years ago by Switched-On in Austin and includes a few useful mods along with a new power cable. There is a switch for mono/duophonic mode, LFO sync to key and CV/Trig/Gate in/out and filter input all of which increase the functionality of this already excellent synth. I’ve owned many of these of the years and this is easily one of the nicest examples I’ve seen of this model and should make its next owner very happy for years to come. Sold AS-IS”

I had Don Besecker of DBM Tech install a better MIDI implementation system, while keeping the original Moog hardware. I had Wes Taggart of Analogics do a complete restoration about 10 operating hours ago. All factory patches and sequences are in memory. Everything on the instrument operates at, frankly, better than original factory quality. I include the owner and service manuals and the oh-so-rare cassette interface cables. There are some scratches at the top of the front panel, as you can see in the photos, but I doubt you’ll find a better-sounding Memorymoog anywhere.”
