“In this auction, I’m selling my original Korg MS20 vintage semi-modular analog synthesizer.
There is probably not too much to tell about the legendary Korg MS20 series. There have been quite a bunch of remakes of this synth but I can tell you that the original version from the 70s-80s just sounds more grittier, dirtier, and meaner than all the remakes made. I’ve tried many of the newer versions and it’s just simply not the same. With the old version you get the authentic sound: The little rattles and electric hisses when turning the knobs, and the screaming resonances when cranking up the resonance (peak) – which are all part of the unique sound of this synthesizer gem. With this synth, you can create screaming Lead Sounds, Growling Sub-Basses, or either massive or thin Pad sounds. With the analog patch bay, your possibilities are countless.
I’m selling this Synth because I’m moving and I just simply don’t find the time anymore to play with my analog gear.
The Power supply/plug for this MS20 is European (220V), but I’ve included in this auction the power converter to make it work with 110V any other voltages.
I’ve used this Synth before with a Korg SQ-1 as a sequencer and with a little fine-tuning it worked great in combination.
The condition of this synth is used, it has little cosmetic signs of use (see pictures). When turning the knobs you hear little hisses sometimes (which is part of the original sound). I’ve connected the synth to my DAW before making this auction and all functions (as far as I was able to test them) worked. Since this is a vintage Synth, with endless combinations, I can only sell it as is, without being able to test every single possible connection and routing.
