“This MUSICIAN’S DREAM-GEAR is FULLY FUNCTIONAL, and I would say it is in EXCELLENT condition, especially for its age! However, and respectfully, since everyone has different standards, please don’t take my word for it; I’ll let the pictures do the talking. 🙂
I am sure that if you are looking at this item, you know everything about it. So, I will just tell you about this particular gem:
IT HAS JUST BEEN FULLY SERVICED!
The following were done, which cost me over $1000! I’m sure you can find others for less than what mine is selling for, however, you would then need to find someone who would work on these (which is very rare nowadays), and then who knows how much it would cost to make it functional. These synths are over 40 years old, which means unless they had just been serviced, hardly any of them would be fully functional, and condition is everything. Also, they are known for their FATAL FLAW, their leaky rechargeable onboard battery! Which if not caught in time (most were not!), their main board, and many other components, would have been destroyed and will be in need of a complete rebuilt/overhaul, and that is very costly! $$$$
SERVICES DONE:
. Key-bed rebuilt
. All knobs/dials serviced
. All buttons serviced
. Brand new main/mother board installed (old one was destroyed by the battery acid!)
. Fresh (non-rechargeable) board battery installed
. Original factory presets re-programmed
. All contacts cleaned
This is one of the most amazing synths of all time! With its rich/creamy analog sounds, and heavenly string sounds, it is a timeless gear, which was way ahead of its time when it came out, and will forever be relevant, and usable in all electronic music productions. It is truly breathtaking…
The PolySix was a milestone because, along with the Roland Juno 6 which appeared almost simultaneously, in 1981 the PolySix was the first opportunity ordinary mortals had to get their hands on a proper programmable polysynth. Up until then, you had to be loaded to afford a Prophet 5, Oberheim OB-Xa, or Roland Jupiter 8.
At first glance it looks like a scaled-down Mono/Poly, but really it’s not! In fact it had a lot of great new features such as 32 memory patches, 6 voices of polyphony, cassette backup of memory, even programmable modulation effects and Chorus, Phase, Ensemble!
The Polysix has warm-sounding real analog oscillators, softer and brassy-er sounding than the Juno. Engage the built-in Chorus on a simple single-oscillator sawtooth patch and you were pretty darned close to that expensive Prophet sound. But the big ace in the Polysix’s hand was the Ensemble effect. Instant Mellotron-like strings.
Like the Mono/Poly the voices can be played in Unison for a 6-oscillator lead sound that was so big, it was often too big! The advanced arpeggiator can memorize and sequence chords across the keyboard. The PolySix has been used by Eat Static, Geoff Downes, Astral Projection, Jimi Tenor, Global Communications, Kitaro, Robert Rich, Keith Emerson and Tears for Fears.” Click here to visit listing on eBay
