“I’m the original owner of this CS-10, bought it in Japan in 1981. Still in good condition. Sounds great; rich tones – pure analog. All keys/knobs/sliders solid and working. Besides the organic sounds generated from the keyboard, I plugged my guitar and mic into it for very interesting sounds and ideas. Hate to see it go, but I haven’t used it in many years, and I’m downsizing – everything must go. ”

” Works. I cleaned all pots and switches it needs a technician to fix the decay or release of the tone . Unit passes audio , vcos and oscillators are functional but needs to be tweaked by synth tech to be 100 percent . I will list sold as is for parts not working but you can call me and I’ll play it so you can hear it . audio no distortion in signal at all . The only problem I see with unit is when you play a note it works but it doesn’t decay .”

“Very good condition, one owner, mild use, smoke-free, and fully functional except the battery needs to be replaced. All buttons are functional and none have cracks from overuse. Because the battery is dead, I loaded sounds into the on-board memory to prove that it is working properly. If loading sound banks via MIDI, the battery is not needed. Battery replacement procedure is fairly straight-forward and can be found on YouTube. There are minor scuffs and scratches on the bottom but nothing serious. “This unit has hardly seen the light of day since it was last used in the 90s. It appears to reuire some sort of disk for loading tones an this auction does not include any sort of disk. “This is probably the most difficult sale I have ever made, in fact I have wrestled with selling the DX over many years as it has sat sadly idle in a corner gathering dust. You see that is a crime in itself as the DX100 is aguably the best DX vintage synth in my humble opinion and I’ve owned a few (dx7, dx200, TG300, TX81Z, FS1r…I fecking love FM). The reason is simple, the DX100 is light and portable, it has only 4 operators which means has just enough complexity without getting overwhelmed in the FM labrynth. Unlike other, cleaner more modern FM synths, the DX has a lot of quirk, weird envelope hangs depending on how you clip the keys that you just dont get on other synths- its unique and with a bit of grit that you just dont get on modern synths.

It has a user bank full of my favorite sounds I’ve designed (usually basses) as well a the stable of usual FM preset banks.
I am selling as not working although that is strictly not true…when you sequence over midi, the display seems to go blank although it still play sounds, notes also occasionally hang: this may be due to too much control data getting sent to the synth and it’s primative midi just having a seizure, it never used to be a problem when I just had an atari ST as my sequencer, I don’t know and I’m selling as seen so someone else can figure this out. The display is not back lit and thus very dark, but can still be read at the right angle.
As you can see its a bit beat up (or much loved) scratched plastic everywhere, the two data encoders got snapped off years ago in transit, but still work with a well applied fingertip. All the buttons work with a firm press. The battery cover is long lost. ” Click here to search for synths on eBay

“According to Ray at Fair Deal music in the Bullring,Birmingham, where I bought this c.1990, this Yamaha DX7 used to belong to TheDamned.
As you can see in the photos, there’s some cosmetic damage to the metal on the right-hand-side; apparently caused by a lamp directed onto the keyboard whilst on tour. There are some other battle scars: the slider buttons are missing; some of the plastic above the control buttons is scratched and cracked. “You are bidding on Yamaha DX7 classic synth. The keyboard was completely tested after sitting on a shelf for last couple years and absolutely everything works as suppose to be: all keys, display, all buttons etc- all work great. meanwhile the synth needs to be filled by sounds. We lost all patches about 2 years ago, so battery was replaced, also power cord was replaced on new one, but we never got any cartridge to fill keyboard by sounds. So I recorded some sort of spacy patch #1 just to get sound and test keys and all functions. you’ll need some cartridge or you can do it by yourself but DX series is kind of difficult to program. anyway, it’s possible and it takes time. Cosmetically the synth has some marks and imperfections here and there, but after all it doesn’t look bad for basically 40 years old instrument and cosmetics doen’t effect on functionality at all. Due an age and vintage nature the synth goes AS IS. But as I said she does works great, just fill out by sounds. we put very reasonable price.
