“vintage yamaha dx7- the keyboard is clean with standard wear. when turned on the screen says ram corrupted. the internal sounds are zero. if turned on holding down #16 & #32 simultaneously the cartridges will play. I’m told the sounds have to be re-installed and the synth is a half step below C. There is a way to tune it but I don’t know a thing about the keyboard. I’m selling it exactly as photographed. No other parts, no cartridges. Consider the synth in ‘not working’ condition. It may be an easy fix for someone who has dealt with these before. I borrowed a couple of cartridges and the instruments sounded great through an amp. I bought it untested about 10 years ago thinking it was in working condition because it looks great, very clean. “The SK20 is a three section analogue poly synth, having organ, string and synth sections. The three sections can be balanced individually and there is full control over the organ and synth sections , a lesser degree of control on the strings. All functions work as intended.
Its a great synth and sounds amazing with the ensemble function switched on. It also has outputs for a Leslie speaker.
Its in n ice condition. One of the wooden end caps has had some damage on the lower edge (pictured) but this has been stabilized and painted over to prevent any more crumbling of the wood. The front panel is nice and clean and has very few scratches.
Selling since I have an SK50D so don’t really have a need any longer from my other SK synths.”

Unit powers up but nothing works- lcd display is illuminated, but no display and no sound. I bought this a while ago as is with hopes of replacing the mainboard someday but I never got around it. Prior owner told me thats what it needs, but I am not sure what is wrong with it really. Will ship it in a cheap keyboard case I have for extra protection. “I’ve had this monster since 1994 – overall good condition, a few scratches on the end panel, right hand side, a couple of minor scratches across 1 black key, some wear on the case paint under the keyboard – see photos. Home use only.
All button lettering is still visible, backlit LCD display in good working order & fully legible, all buttons and controls working, all audio totally clear and fine, MIDI all good, all keys working with velocity & aftertouch. The floppy disk drive spins but no longer reads data – this will require a replacement belt, and is a common age-related defect.
It still sounds *amazing*. Combine the FM synthesis engine of the DX7II with sampled AWM waveforms, pipe it through the powerful resonant filter, express yourself with the 2 mod-wheels and aftertouch, and complete the experience with the onboard effects.”
