“Vintage Yamaha SY35 Keyboard Synthesiser.
Used, but not heavily, replacing because I have upgraded. All keys work fine, plays nicely, it’s in tune obviously as a synth. All presets sound correctly. Modwheel and joystick are responsive.
There are a few scuffs and marks from general use, and as you can see from the pictures, one of the keys is cracked underneath (doesn’t affect playing at all).
It’s a really fun synth to play, there are a lot of sounds and custom sounds as well.

” A very nice Yamaha SHS-200 Digital MIDI keyboard. Great condition. The device has very little sign of wear or use. The keys are all tested and working. The option buttons also seem functional but sometimes needed a firm press. All other sliders, pitch dial and functions seem operational. We have not tested the MIDI or output but they look very clean. Includes Yamaha strap in good, strong condition. The device comes with a 3rd party power supply. This is 9v and not quite the correct voltage (12v) so should be changed. It also has a little damage to the wiring near the power brick. The battery compartment looks clean, the foam has degraded a little. Includes original box (a little tatty in places,) printed instruction manual and Yamaha welcome booklet. “I have carried out some basic and incomplete testing on this.
It’s in cosmetically very good shape, seems to be in tune, and all keys press nicely.
Almost all of the 128 presets sounded, however 3 or 4 did not.
The headphone socket is a bit crackly. The line outs were not tested yet but I might be able to do this soon.
The mod wheel didn’t seem to be doing anything when I tested it to apply vibrato.
However the vector joystick was responsive.
MIDI in/out to be played by / play another keyboard was tested, and is working.
Please note: Although I did some testing of sound modification and saving, I did not do any advanced testing as per the more advanced of the two instruction books. The two instruction books are included, plus a mains adapter.

“The Synthesizer is in overall good condition but will need a new internal battery so I am unable to test the unit. It is sold as is. There are a few scratches on the case and couple on the keys but overall nothing too bad at all. There are a couple letters and numbers etched on the case from a previous owner. It could use cleaning and polishing to really look good.”

“This is a Yamaha DX7 digital programmable FM synthesizer from the mid-1980s with memory cartridges in working condition.
This listing includes the read-only memory cartridges numbered 3 and 4, which contain the “master group”, “keyboard and plucked group”, “orchestral and percussive group”, and the “complex & effects group. These cartridges are tested with this synth and work.
This listing also includes a read-write memory cartridge for you to store your own DX7 patches. This is also tested and works.
The internal memory works too and includes the default set of sounds. However, the internal battery is low and needs to be replaced. If this internal battery dies, you will need to reprogram the internal memory, which can be done using free software like SysEx Librarian and the original soundbanks available from Bobby Blues website. Search the web for “Yamaha DX7 factory reset | Load preset sounds sysex” for instructions. If you can program this synth, you can easily learn how to reprogram the internal memory.
