“A great 90’s synth / workstation starting to appreciate in value . A great sounding keyboard that is quite complicated to learn (fully ). But when learnt is a wonderful studio tool , it has a sequencer and host of effects and sound control sliders and knobs . It comes with a C P multi media USB emulater (Brand New) in a box, not yet fitted (£75 cost) . There is a Scandisk usb thumb drive included with over 1500 sounds on it . A floppy disk drive is still working with a set up disk for resetting if required. A brochure listing everything that the keyboard can do along with lists of sounds etc along with a Gator keyboard case is included. Unfortunately the backup battery has just started to play up ( this is a cr battery like those fitted to car central locking key fobs) . I’ve just upgraded my workstation so I’m letting this go as working but needs the new battery fixed , but the usb emulater is situated in the same area , so could be fitted at the same time. This would update the synth to sysex sounds via usb (computer). I’ve allowed £100 to fit both if fitted by a electronic technician. Not included is the keyboard stand. Not parts but working with about 15 sounds missing and a display that is slightly dimmed due to the battery. Tech looked at and quoted for for work required. A wonderful keyboard with great keybed just needs a little TLC .”

But, it is awesome…and it is in excellent shape (other than the physical wear from being over 30 years old).
I PERSOANLLY opened it up and cleaned and adjusted each and every contact inside so that there are no keys that have issues upon being pressed. (often, over the years, the contacts get dirty or bent, which impairs the touch sensitivity.
Rest assured, every key works perfectly and the inside is in excellent condition.
If you are not put off by the scratches and scuffs, you will be getting one of the best DX7’s around.
The Grey Matter E! expansion (which I photographed for you) is what sets this instrument apart from others.
ALSO, just another annoying thing that you won’t have to worry about: I replaced the battery inside (a little CR 2032 battery which controls the memory…often they are dead in 30 year old instruments…but I replaced it and soldered it onto the board as it is supposed to be).” Click here to visit listing on eBay

For spares or repair
I bought these two keyboards separately both in poor condition. I stripped each one down and cleaned them extensively, including cleaning each key one by one and polishing them before refitting. The bottom DX11 had about a dozen broken keys which I replaced but if you look closely you can see some are a slightly different shade, but I think this is better than having broken keys that don’t work.
They are both in very good condition, one is missing the bottom rubber feet
Unfortunately they both don’t quite work properly. They both power on.
The top keyboard seems to work quite well but button no. 15 doesn’t work (you can replace this, or it might just need a good clean with deoxit), and the top key does not sound. I suspect this is due to the rubber strip under the keybed not quite positioned right, I kept trying to move it a bit but couldn’t get it to work.
The bottom keyboard I can’t get it to make any proper sounds, all you can hear is quiet nasty digital noises, so I suspect this is a chip that has gone bad.
Upon testing them before listing them here I came across the above issues only. But months ago when I tested them I remember one kept cutting out and powering off and on. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay
