“YAMAHA DX100 SYNTHESIZER in Good Condition. All functions, buttons, keys, inputs and outputs work properly. I am the original owner. It has never been outside of my professional studio. I have always used it as a MIDI-controlled sound module as the keys are really too small to be useful. But the sounds that come out of this unit rock!!!!!! All sound waves are programmable so skies the limit. There are a couple of minor cosmetic scratches but they really aren’t very noticeable. It is truly a powerful, rare synthesizer with unique sounds and portability. Includes AC adapter and original manuals.”

The universal power adapter I tried with it did not work, I do not know if it didn’t work because it is not the standard power adapter that comes with this keyboard. It does turn on with batteries. There is a section of 13 keys between the bass and treble side that do NOT work. All the other buttons prompt different reactions on the screen. The contrast dial work. The output quarter-inch Jack works, both of the bend dials toward the top left of the keyboard work. I tested out as much as I could. I am not guaranteeing I know every single thing wrong with this unit. May just be good for parts. May be easily fixed it could be a user error on my end. I cannot say for 100% certainty.”

“The unit with all of the keys has an intermittent output jack (I use the “phones out” jack instead which works just fine, It is also missing one fader knob (easily acquired online) but the fader itself works perfectly. Otherwise it is in perfect working condition. The second unit has obvious problems with missing keys (also easily found online) and because of this there is a delay in the remaining keys. BUT it works perfectly fine as a remote keyboard module when midied from any other midi unit! I’m including the Yamaha 12v power supply as well as a new midi cable. and one new set of c batteries (installed)”

“This is probably the most difficult sale I have ever made, in fact I have wrestled with selling the DX over many years as it has sat sadly idle in a corner gathering dust. You see that is a crime in itself as the DX100 is aguably the best DX vintage synth in my humble opinion and I’ve owned a few (dx7, dx200, TG300, TX81Z, FS1r…I fecking love FM). The reason is simple, the DX100 is light and portable, it has only 4 operators which means has just enough complexity without getting overwhelmed in the FM labrynth. Unlike other, cleaner more modern FM synths, the DX has a lot of quirk, weird envelope hangs depending on how you clip the keys that you just dont get on other synths- its unique and with a bit of grit that you just dont get on modern synths.
