” Up for sale is a very clean, beautiful and perfect working vintage Yamaha DX-27 digital FM synthesizer from 1985. The DX-27 is the full-size keyboard version of the DX-100 and has the same exact motherboard and preset programs including the biggest most famous synth bass patch in history “SOLID BASS” aka as “LATELY BASS” Heard on so many hit records during the 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s. An absolute must have in your arsenal and toolbox to make hit records. The warmth and grit of the real hardware is not able to be replicated fully with samples or software. This sounds amazingly FAT and for the one bass patch alone much worth owning. There are other great presets on board as well and is a good cheaper alternative to something like a Roland Juno-106 to get that classic synth bass tone.

Item in very near mint condition and super clean. Stored unused in my smoke free studio for years. Battery is holding charge and all factory presets are fully intact. You will have a hard time finding a cleaner DX-27 in the US. Many are for sale in Japan but they have a different voltage and shipping is costly. My shipping is free…”

The DX family get bad press for being difficult to program, but I didn’t think so. The voice programming guide walks you through five examples showing how to start with a raw signal and turn it into a voice. You have eight algorithms to play with, each made up of four operators.

The main board original fixed battery was removed and replaced with a battery holder (which of course has a new battery installed). Battery can now be easily replaced when exhausted.

I plugged it in and functions and switches appear to work but I’m not an expert. The absolute highest key seems to be a little wonky so you’ll probably have to hit it with some contact cleaner.

Keep in mind that we are offering this for a discounted starting bid and there are plenty of serviced examples out there. Buy this only if you’re a tinkerer/pro that knows how to maintain vintage synths. With a small bit of effort you can have a great player synth for a fraction of the price of a serviced one. ”

“Travel back in time with this vintage synth. Made by Yamaha in Japan in the late 1980s, it’s a Yamaha DX-27 synthesizer. When turned on, the display reads CHANGE RAM BATTERY. So, it doesn’t work. The display comes on. Some sounds can squeak out, but that’s about it.

The prior owner was a retired engineer who takes great care of his stuff. So, it hasn’t been abused. It just needs some service.

It’s in fine cosmetic condition. The keys, everything, are in fine shape.

“Vintage Yamaha DX-27 Synthesizer Ser#020251 Power Supply Good Condition KEYBOARD. Keyboard is fully functional. Data entry knob is missing. All keys are fully functional. Has small scratches here and there. I had some trouble with the power cord. I plugged it in and it would stay on when it was plugged in in a certain position. It would trunk off if I turned or moved the piano. I suppose since it’s an old power cord the connection to the piano might be loose. Regardless when it was plugged in correctly it eould work fine. Nothing to hide here. There is no water damage. I used my headphones to test it and nothing else. No cracks anywhere. Please review photographs.”
