“Roland D110 synth. I would describe this a tatty example of this unit and I have set the price accordingly. Please check the photographs, you will see what I mean.

The mains cable was replaced some years ago, but I lost the cable clamp in the process! but if its racked, should be ok.

The volume knob was missing when I got it, and for what I used it for, it was never an issue so I never got it replaced. I used the 8 outs into a mixer.

I have powered it up and it works, so if you want a cheap rackmount synth with 8 separate outputs, this could be for you.”

“This unit is in excellent condition for a piece of equipment this age. Probably just needs a little dusting and you’re good to go. As with any vintage music/audio equipment you’ll want to treat it with care. Some EX-800 units have been known to have a leaky battery that can be a problem, but as shown in the photos, the battery in this unit appears to be in good shape (and I believe it is the original, unless the previous owner changed it out, which is unlikely).

This listing includes the EX-800 unit only. Does NOT include power cord, so you’ll need to have or get a 9-volt power supply with “center pin negative”. You can buy adjustable voltage power supplies online, but get one that outputs a reliable voltage, as any vintage synth like this can sometimes behave oddly if the power is not at the correct voltage (such as making buzzes, or clicks, or not loading program data reliably).

I do not have the EX-800 manual or any additional paperwork. You can probably find that documentation online if you need it.”

“Legendary analogue synthesizer from 1981. Without a shadow of doubt the most powerful mono synth ever produced. This thing is completely devastating for bass, but also excels at leads, drones, percussive sounds and all kinds of other complete madness. A truly wild and amazing instrument. The real deal – none of this modern clone/reproduction business.

This one has the much more desirable J-Wire keyboard – and is serial number 6732. A bit of research online will reveal that this is what you want – the first couple of thousand has problems with the internal power supply and the ones after 8000 had the badly designed membrane keyboard. The synth was serviced a couple pf years ago and is working flawlessly (I can provide the service invoice). The synth is in immaculate condition cosmetically. Wooden end cheeks are in really nice condition. All in all for a 40 year old unit this is a really incredible example. An amazing and inspiring instrument but also a solid investment, the price of these things is rising all the time these days. “I bought this to try to fix up but the condition ended up being rather atrocious. It likely came from a garage, basement, or outdoor shed – it doesn’t have an odor though. Upon opening it up, it had all kinds of dust and dirt which I vacuumed out. I installed a new battery and repaired some wires that had somehow been broken. I cleaned the tops of the keys and key contacts.

It powers on on the first attempt, but then when turned off and on again, it won’t power on until being left off for a while. I tried reloading via tape input dozens of times, but got an error message each time. I tried loading patches via sysex but nothing brought the patches back on. All the patches are quiet, or noise, or bad sounds although the filter does sound nice and it does have some oscillator sound as well. I had limited success trying to program a patch, turning the noise off and adjusting the decay and release, and delay. It seems it’s something more wrong with it than simply re-programming the patches.

All the keys trigger. The pitch bend and mod stick doesn’t work and sound the way it’s suppose to. The buttons all double trigger when pressed most the time. The sliders move, although a little rough, but it was hard to test their functionality given that the patches are so bad. I didn’t bother messing with the sequencer and just ended up giving up. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay

The keyboard only plays one note for most patches. Isn’t responding properly. Editing doesn’t seem to work properly. The unision and poly mode buttons didn’t seem to do what they are supposed to do.
