“I bought this used awhile back and never use it so i am losing it.

This was modified by the previous owner. It was painted and a 3 speed LFO switch (super fast)

was installed. Everything works like normal as far as i can tell. Rough but ready to rock.

The battery use stopped working for some reason and can only be powered by included adapter.

One of the springs in the battery compartment broke but that is not the reason why the battery power does not work.

The body has seen some use and has some holes drilled into it from the previous owner who was going to do more mods to it.

Also some tape residue and rattling inside probably due to loose screws or broken plastic.”

Comes with original Roland boxed grip set which includes grip, strap and mounts.
Very good condition with only light marks. No dents or damage.
Full working orrder. No corrosion in the battery compartment.
The synthesizer used to have a Kenton filter/mod modification hence the 2 holes at the back of the case which was previously removed.
This of course could be replaced if wanted.

“The SH-101 is very cool, especially for techno, drum&bass and ACID! It’s a monophonic bass synthesizer. Its sound lies somewhere between the TB-303 and a Juno bass sound. It has a lot of simple but cool features. You can control the VCF, pitch, LFO or all from the pitch bender. It has a white noise generator, arpeggiator with up, down and up/down patterns and a simple real-time sequencer. The LFO offers random, sine, square or noise waveforms. And normal or auto portamento effects give you that elastic bass sound. There are external clock inputs for the sequencer and arpeggiator, CV/GATE inputs and outputs and a CV hold pedal.

For a 40 year old bit of kit it’s in great condition, no battery leakage in the battery compartment. All sliders, knobs, buttons, leds are all functional and not bent or deformed. Such an amazing classic sound that this synth produces.

There is slight damage to one of the keys as can be seen in the photo. Please note the key to the left of the damaged key seams to not be functional/temperamental. Could be the switch either needs replacing or having a bit of contact cleaner on it. Personally I don’t want to open up such a classic/vintage synth to diagnose the issue. ”

This synth was serviced when I bought it 3 years ago and it’s been used in a smoke free studio environment the time I’ve had it. No cracks in the case, barely any signs of wear even on the bottom, all sliders feel great, as clean a 101 as you’ll ever find.

“The machine produces an unstable timbre. This appears to be caused by degradation of the power switch. You can reproduce the fault if you wiggle the power switch while you play a note (see end of video). While the 101 behaved reasonably well during the recording of the video, the fault is intermittent and can vary significantly. This is a common issue on the SH-101 and the solution is to either fix or replace the switch. Apart from this, all keys, sliders, buttons, switches and the pitch/modulation bend work, the sequencer stores and plays sequences correctly, arp works, and the output is clean. Cosmetically there is a little wear around the battery compartment lid and the clips have snapped off leaving two small holes. The battery compartment itself is fine and the rest of the chassis looks great. The MGS-1 works although even when at zero it alters the pitch slightly and you need to adjust the master tuning to compensate. The Kenton Pro Solo MK3 is in good condition and works fine.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

There are a couple of light scratches which can be seen in the photos. All other keys and buttons/settings tested and in working order. This is most likely an easy fix to get the one key working.
