The Six-Trak is in excellent working order, all of the keys and buttons work properly. Some cosmetic wear typical of a 30+ year-old unit (see pictures). “This is a 1983 Sequential Circuits Six-Track six voice analogue synthesizer. It is one of the first analogue synths to include MIDI in and out and has 64 preset sounds. It has six voices that can be stacked individually as well as plays with six-voice polyphony. I am including the original manual. Because of it’s vintage nature it is being sold as is. “Ive put in a good effort trying to get this thing fixed, but I think it’s time to pass it on. Essentially, the main issue is that the sixth channel is screwed up. This usually manifests by not producing any sound whenever you hit a note on the six channel, and unfortunately, it’s kind of unpredictable which you know will be on that sixth channel. You can partially correct the problem by setting the voices to monophonic, but that ruins a lot of the fun. Additionally, some of the numeric buttons aren’t working very well.

The last guy that took a look at it gave me a description of what’s going on. I’ve quoted him below.

“Its pretty beat – membrane switches are pretty shot, something is busted in channel 6 and the case is rough. (…) All 6 of your chips are good, it’s something else in channel 6 not the synth chip. The chips are CEM3394″

He’s encouraged me to sell it for parts since he believes a repair of this particular unit might be kind of difficult. Of course, that’s just one opinion.” Click here to search for synths on eBay

Power switch is broken and looks like it has been connected straight through, so it powers up as soon as it is plugged in. All parts appear to be present. Buttons all work but the number 2 can be a bit sensitive ( probably needs a clean ) but everything is working ,a new memory battery was fitted

Built with 48 velocity-sensitive keys and the same Curtis circuitry found in the company’s more expensive models, the Six-Trak boasts six voice polyphony and six VCOs for solid lead, bass, and pad modeling. I’ve owned this synthesizer for 2 years and have had nothing but joy from it. The only reason I’m selling is so I can afford to buy… another synthesizer, of course. Comes with 99 great patches. You can edit those to make most sounds you might want. The sequencer is very simple but intuitive and includes some fun features such as multitimbrality (multiple patches at once) and volume for each voice. It’s also one of the few synths from this period that has full midi functionality, so you can plug it right to the computer or a sequencer. Overall this thing is in great condition. The wood panels are slightly scuffed on the corners but no actual damage. All buttons and keys work. You don’t wanna miss out on this 1984 polysynth! ” 1984 Sequential Circuits Six-Trak in great condition, serial #245. I bought it from a sixth form college last year as the department that owned it was shutting down. I’ve since replaced the memory battery and reloaded the factory presets. The synth is now fully functional with all 6 voices, filter, LFO, amp, sequencer, stack, arpeggiator, wheels* etc working perfectly, and makes some really great sounds in poly, unison and stack modes. It works with a foot controller though I’m not including one.
