Bought it from my friend a few years back as it needed some TLC and he wasn’t using it, so took it to Synth Prof (synthprof.com) for a full MOT and UK mains conversion, which cost £225 around 2 years ago (if you need specific details of the work that was done I can email Andrew at Synth Prof for more info).

“Good shape, everything works, some physical wear is evident. There is some rust around the holes for the rack screws and a few minor scrapes in the finish. There is also some residue on the bottom, where there may have been rubber feet? The pictures give a good indication.

“I’m selling this much loved piece of kit as it’s been under a dust sheet in my studio for the last 12 years and deserves some use. It’s been well looked after but hasn’t been used for some time. It’s never been gigged – studio use only. Before listing I fired it up for testing and it could do with a service but a spray of pot cleaner in the right places would probably do the job.

” One owner since new, bought in Leeds in the very early 80’s. It has never been gigged but used for music fun at home.

“PHYSICAL CONDITION: Good – There is a 4″ strip of wood missing from the top part of the right side panel. There are light scratches and scuffs all along the sides of this synth. All the LEDs light up as they should. All the pots rotate nicely. The master volume pot/knob wiggles slightly from side to side compared to the other knobs. All the push button feel good and the I/O jacks on the back are solid. The keybed’s fast, light action feels great and the keys are level with each other. All the keys are fully intact with no major chips or cracks to speak of except for the Bb/A# key to the left of the middle C which has an extremely small blemish near the middle. The power cord is in great shape with no tears to speak of. Overall, this synthesizer is in good physical condition WORKING CONDITION: Excellent – Works like a champ! All keys, all control knobs, all buttons, all LEDs, both pitch and mod wheel as well as all I/O are working perfectly! Overall working condition is excellent”

“I bought this years ago to restore and just repaired the power supply temporarily, as you can see by the wire nuts. It turns on and makes some cool sounds but clearly isn’t working well. To be safe I am selling it as not working, for parts, but many lights come on and buttons react, and keys make sounds.”

“You are looking at a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 Revision 3.3 serial 4266 with factory midi kit installed. The revision 3.3 was the last version of the Prophet 5 produced. It has the latest 10.5 system ROM and has 120 patch memories. This Prophet has been fully serviced by Norm Leete in Gloucestershire and has had a new memory battery installed. Norm is well respected and does much of the servicing work for the VEMIA equipment auctions. The keyboard plays like new as it has been fully reconditioned with new rubber key bushings. There are a few minor marks here and there but overall I would say that this Prophet 5 is in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The original user manual will be included. I have owned this synth since the late 80’s and will be very sad to see it go.” 
“For Sale. My beloved Pro One synth which I have owned from new. It has NEVER BEEN GIGGED and has spent it’s entire life flightcased or sitting in my studio. There are two small cosmetic scratches (shown in the pics) which don’t affect its performance in any way. Like all things of its age, it could do with a spray of pot cleaner (and I would recommend that the buyer does this), but is in full working order and sounds great. Extremely rare now and hard to find in this condition. If you love that fat analogue sound, get bidding and you wont be disappointed. ”
