The keyboard is also beautiful, and there are no cracks etc. There is no liquid leak mark in the battery box.
Thread etc. are somewhat in the black key and the knob, so I think that it does not hurt to call it as a beauty item considering the age.
Power was turned on by the adapter of BOSS, sounds were output from all the keys, and it was confirmed that various knobs responded.

“Great condition and priced to sell. I had this shipped from Japan 10 years ago. 110v model requires a step down converter. This one has had 2 replacement VCA/VCF chips around about 2 years after the time I bought it. After I replaced the chips I had the remaining 4 stripped of their silicone to prevent them degrading in the future. 8 years down the line and it’s still running fantastic. Wonderful, fully-operational analogue synthesizer. Built in 83/84 in Japan.
I have only used this synth a couple of times for studio use. I have had the electronics checked by Gee Electronics in Warrington in May of this year. I also had it checked over by Manchester Pro Audio only 2 days ago, and it is in fantastic working condition. Every button, switch and dial working as it should too.

“This a vintage analog polyphonic Roland Alpha Juno synth. A great way at getting a classic Juno sounds cheaper than the other models. The synth is in great condition, except for a small crack near the power switch…. this does not affect playability and the structure of the synth is still solid. The synth works perfectly except for the backlight for the screen is a bit faint, but you can still see the values on the screen… you may want to get a new bulb at some point. This comes with a Roland MSQ 100 digital sequencer, i bought this recently but never got around to trying it out. “This is a Jupiter-8. You know what it is, you know what it sounds like.
I’ve owned this particular JP-8 since the early 90’s. It had been dropped some time in its life prior to me buying it. It is a very early serial number (May 1981, 210th JP-8 ever made). Over the years, I’ve owned 5 or 6 other JP-8s and every time I compared them, I always kept this one. There’s just something special about the way this one sounds.
Over the years, I’ve added the Encore MIDI kit and have recapped the power supply and output board and installed new regulators in the power supply. There have been other minor repairs over time, but nothing especially difficult or comprehensive.
Since this is a vintage synth, I would think any potential owner would like to have a set of hard to find parts, just in case, right? Why spend a lot of money on a vintage synth and then have to spend hundreds of dollars and lots of time tracking down very rare spares? I’ve done the work for you here.
You get the JP-8 plus original owner’s manual, Encore MIDI manual, fold out service manual, and a lot of spares. Among the parts are – replacement sliders, extra knobs and slider caps, extra potentiometers, a couple posistors, some rare metal cans, a dozen BA 662’s, an IR3109 IC, some new black keys, some new white keys (including a high C) and some used white keys, springs, some new tact switches, and some original switch caps from a TR-808. Basically anything your tech would need other than stock IC and resistors/caps.
The JP-8 has been tested and I recently did a quick tune of the oscillators and is 100% working. Shipping it, or any extended car ride will likely get it slightly out of tune/calibration, but getting it back in tune is something that you or a tech could do in less than an hour since the autotune gets it the rest of the way once you’re close.” Click here to search for synths on eBay

They are in no way have any effect on the operation of the synth. Aside from those, cosmetically it’s amazing. Minor signs of wear, but nothing of note. “Everything I can think of (as an experienced keyboard guy), I checked.
All the keys work.
The oscillators all work.
All VCF functions work.
Portamento and noise generators all work fine.
The VCF stage has some internal noise, much more than new, obviously, so it functions as a feedback oscillator when the Q is set high- this, to me, isn’t a bug, it’s a feature, and a fun one.
One of the “tablet” style switches was broken off, but still perfectly usable, I kludged up an extension to make it easier to actuate- there are a bunch of old home organ models that use the same type of tablet (not Yamahas, though, which is what’s sitting here at the shop and easy to get to)
Serial #255385, I haven’t been able to pin down DOM from that yet.
