“See photos for all details on condition. Has scuffs and scratches on multiple sides, but most are only visible under close inspection. Looks very nice for it’s age overall and more importantly sounds greats and plays as it should!
Case latch has lost some of its chrome plating(see photo), but latches as it should. Case is fairly lightweight yet very protective.
Parts/Functions TESTED-
All black/white keys and buttons except any parts that would require a cartridge(since I do not have one). No reason to believe cartridge functions aren’t working though. Cartridge slot not tested for same reason.
All sliders and pitch bender tested. Display works as it should.
All rear audio outputs and l,m,h switch.
MIDI in, out, and thru ports.
ITEMS NOT TESTED-
Can’t test PG-800 port because I do not have programmer
Can’t test hold pedal jack because I do not have pedal
Can’t test cartridge port or any cartridge functions because I do not have a cartridge”

“Available here is a Roland JX-8P analog synthesizer. Featuring 6 voices of polyphony, MIDI implementation and patch storage, this synth is a must have for anyone looking for a dependable vintage synth. The keyboard is velocity and aftertouch sensitive and the JX-8P uses DCO’s. The synth comes with a power cable and sustain pedal. The synth itself is in good condition with a few signs of normal use and wear. There are some noticeable scratches on the synth as well as some minor discoloration across the keybed. These issues are cosmetic though and will not impact the overall playability of this synth.”

“This is a recently fully serviced machine with brand new Analogue Renaissance voice and filter chips. (Google Analogue Renaissance 106)
I can also provide the 6 original voice chips, including one which wasn’t working, hence the upgrade. While I was getting the chip upgrade and service (April 2022) I added the KIWI upgrade mod, which was bought directly from KiwiTechnics and installed by Synth Restore- (Google “synth restore uk”)
For those not familiar with this mod, it is a monster brain enhancement for the 106. It has no direct bearing on the sound of the analog circuitry, but provides a digital brain to add feature like Arpeggiator, and allows for the DCOs to be detuned and stacked, creating possibilities for enormous sounding mon-synth sounds. These are among many other features- pls check here – (Google Kiwi Technics)
I believe it is possible to track down a custom overlay detailing the new controls which I didn’t get round to acquiring, so this is not included. However one image of the capabilities and new menu tree is shown here. I also have the original circuit that was replaced by the KIWI board.

I’ve owned this synth for many years, I don’t have the original box but I do have the manual. It will be well packaged for shipping.
Everything on this synth works exactly as it should and cosmetically, it’s pretty much perfect. I look after my synths better than I look after myself. The battery compartment is clean and tidy, with no past leaking batteries!

For postage I’ll obviously pack the synth in the box and then the box into another box to protect it. ”

” Very nice unit in good overall condition. The Battery cover is missing. I just simply added tape to hold. Works very well. The batteries do not power the unit. They are for storing information on machine. Unit is limited to internal memory however there are storage card made that insert into unit. There are several easy ways to work with this limitation. First, there are sheets that can provide the entire song bar by bar. There is an sample sheet in manual you can copy.
Second, the unit has midi out. The tracks or performance can be saved via midi then inserted into a DAW then away you go. Also, there are 8 dedicated out puts for instruments,Base drum, Snare, low tom, mid tom, hi tom, hi hat, crash and ride. There are also left and right Stereo outputs. Head phone outlet also. There is a input for pedal to Start / Stop. There is a Tape out / in for external storage. There is a Trig out. Now, There are Tape Sync in and out. These a 1/8 plugs.
Example: If you are limited on tracks. The sync noise can be recorded (ideally your song would be writted first) onto a track then played back. The playback (sync) will play track selected Stereo out or mono out. If track(s) are not an issue use the 8 dedicated outputs. When machine is set to receive sync noise it will back play back in perfect time if set up correctly. Sometimes we would not record drums to recorder. We would trigger drums bring into mixer then send all to CD recorder. ”

“This analog synthesizer was sold from 1975 to 1977.
It is a masterpiece of vintage synthesizers, not only for its smart design, but also for its operability and sound.
We purchased it new and have owned it until now.
It runs and turns on, and there is no problem with the sound from the headphone amp.
Important: When operating the slide switch on the VCF, there were times when the VCF would buzz.
There is no damage or missing front panel, knobs, or switches.
The keyboard (yellowing, but not as bad as shown in the picture) does not have any waviness, or any abnormal movement, such as poor return.
The inside of the lid is also in good condition with no tears or discoloration.
