“Roland JX8P Vintage Polyphonic Synthesiser Digitally controlled Analogue. Condition is Used.
This is a uniqe collectors vintage Roland JX-8P originally owned by the 80s Rock Band “Bite the Bullet”. The synth comes with the memory card containing the sounds created by the band using the PG-800 controller, which is included in the sale and featured in their first album released in 1989. The PG-800 controller is an essential editing tool for the JX-8P and can also be used during live performance.
A copy of the CD “Bite the Bullet” is also included in the sale.

I gigged with it until the early 90’s and since then it has been part of my studio. Now the pleasure can be all yours. I have made two videos showing: that all the keys work; a random selection of the presets working – they all work; and midi in and out working. “Excellent condition Roland JX8P synthesiser complete package including the PG800 Programmer in its original case, patch lead, M-16C Memory Card with MKS-30 Sample Sound, Roland sustain pedal, all manuals and plush lined flight case. Everything is in perfect working order having been looked after very well and I am only the second owner having bought it nearly new late 80’s. I am primarily playing acoustic pianos now so have now need for it anymore and haven’t used it for quite a while. It still sounds fantastic and all creative sounds can be arrived at in the digital mode. The top of the keyboard shows the digital filter map but having the programmer enables a smooth transition from creating in the digital mode to working in analogue. It’s like having your own moog. It has full midi capability (in, out, through), stereo and head phone outs together with Dynamics and After Touch functions and holds 96 patch programs (64 preset, 32 free + 32 more with the memory card). This truly is an impressive instrument package from piano sounds, electric dreams to “soundtrack” . The JX8P was used (and probably still is) by Blancmange, Bronski Beat, Kate Bush, The Cure, Go West, The Human League, Europe, Gary Numan, OMD etc. I am selling it as a complete set as it will be a great bonus to whoever buys it. I am based central UK in Northants and will only make it available for cash on collection. ”

“This vintage synth looks pretty good for it’s age. It has some typical wear on the sides and edges. There are no major flaws. There are no cracks or chips. All of the keys are perfect. All of the buttons look good. The display looks good. The other controls and sliders and such all look good too. Basically we have a vintage synthesizer that shows normal wear but no major flaws.

“This keyboard powers on and boots right up. Sounds will play intermittently and a couple of the keys are silent. Patches change and all of the buttons work as expected.May need some cleaning or could be used for parts.” 
“This JX-8P was used in performance for five or six years and has since been safely stored in my home studio. I have been the sole owner of this keyboard and have kept it in excellent condition. I have tested every slider, switch, button, and key, and they are all fully functional! I also tested the midi input and output and both work as expected. As you can see in the photos, the keyboard is in very good shape and shows only the minor imperfections that you would expect from normal usage.

“This is a vintage Roland JX-8P synthesizer. The keyboard is in good, used condition, but is NOT perfect. Two of the keys – marked with blue tape on them – do not work. On the inside, it looks like wood was added, and the plastic where the screws screw into is broken. It is missing screws, and some of the screws on the bottom casing are not original. It has scratches / scuffs. I am not an expert, so it may have more problems than listed. It does come with a power cord, but NO other accessories are included.
