“Classic 61 note synth/editor combination from 1984. Comes as a pair – will not split. Both are very much in original condition, with a few slight cosmetic marks consistent with age. Includes original PG800 silver case and original 6 pin DIN cable which connects synth and programmer. Fully functional.
“Appearance is decent but there are scrapes, scratches, and discoloration. There are also some velcro bits and other schmutz from 30+ years of life. Biggest appearance issue is a cracked cartridge blister button (see photos).

“I am not an expert but I plugged it up into an amp. It worked fine. Wasn’t staticky or anything. The different settings worked. I have the right power cord for it. It is nice functionally as far as I can tell and also nice cosmetically. The only (and very small thing) is the right side of the plastic chassis, if you pull on it it tries to lift up. I’m sure it just needs to be screwed in thats all. When I pick it up to move I pick it up by the middle of the body.
“I purchased these units last year for a band project that ended up falling through. Since that time they’ve never been gigged with and have been used very little. I’m clearing out some unused gear, so they must go. The JX-8P does have some wear, which is to be expected for its age, but all in all it’s in fairly good shape. The keys work and the patch membrane buttons all function as well. The PG-800 programmer works great and looks like it just came from the factory. Neither of these items have given me any trouble while in my possession.
“Roland JX-8P Polyphonic Synthesizer – DOES NOT POWER ON!! USE FOR PARTS!. Condition is For parts or not working. Unit is having trouble powering on. From a quick look inside the unit, it appears to need a new power transformer. Retail price for a new transformer is around $50.00. It would require some basic soldering skills to fix. This item also has some damage to one of the preset buttons on the front, the label itself has been scratched off but the button to select the preset seems to be functional. Item also has some writing on it with permanent marker. Item comes with power cord, but will need repairs to get powered up. Item is also missing a few screws on the side and bottom which may require ordering from manufacturer or other parts store. ”

“Great 80s Analog synth with digital controls and programming. FAT bass, horn, strings,etc. Note: the Aftertouch does not work like most of these synths from the 80s. The strip under the keyboard wears out. I didnt feel a need for Aftertouch so it didnt matter to me. This function is still available by external control however. There are some cosmetic blemishes which I have included in the photos.”
