“For sale is a vintage Roland D50 synth for parts only. My assumption is that the power supply has gone bad, but I am not 100% sure. A few red lights illuminate when the unit powers on, so there is juice going somewhere, but not to the LCD screen or main board of the synth. Cosmetic condition is quite good for it’s age. “Roland D-50 Linear Synthesizer . Serviced . New switch buttons , new slide potentiometer for volume and aftertouch . Screen and leds are working perfectly . New jacks for the outputs and the headphone . Big thing : I have changed the Roland power inlet for a regular one who fits with any regular power cable ( not included ) ( see picture ) . Volume and aftertouch knobs have been lost with the time and replaced by some 3D printed . The top of the joystick has been replaced by a 3D printed as well . And the top of the bender lever as well . Please look at the pictures for more details . The keyboard is almost 40 years old so of course it has some signs of use but it works great and the sound is clear . All keys are working . The motherboard is V2 . ”

“I am the original owner of this Roland D-50 bought in 1988! I have all the manuals, memory card and original box as seen in the pictures! The box does have about a 3 inch cut from years and years of moving. I haven’t used it for a while so I went through and checked all of the outputs and reset it to factory defaults. Unit has been recently cleaned and the internal battery replaced (it’s good for many years to come).

Unit has some signs of age (after all it’s been in the service since 1987) but overall, it’s a decent unit. Please look at pictures carefully and ask questions if you want. As common in many (if not ALL) D50s, I don’t thin the aftertouch is working, but that doesn’t affect its functionality at all.

” Roland D-50 Synthesizer for sale. Warm analog sounds, all of the white and black keys work as well as the modulation wheel. There are a few patches of cosmetic scratches on the bottom. The battery should have plenty of juice in it as well. The card shown in the pictures comes with it and I’ve played through them to confirm they work, with this one caveat – keys 3 and 5 on the patch number row are currently not functioning. Seen overhead in the first picture, all of the “Patch Bank” buttons work, however, just to the right, the 3rd and 5th “Patch Number” buttons are not accessible. The fourth is good, but you might have to press on the right or left side just a bit. I’m not equipped to attempt a repair, but it seems possible to restore functionality if you or a technician can take a look at it, thereby opening up those sounds as well. Besides that it’s in great shape. All of the accessible sounds come through warm and clear. Playing through them is always fun and it’s a bummer to part with it. There is some marking an discolouration on the surface of sythesizer (see photos for details).
