These have an iconic sound and are apart of music history. Found on countless hits of it’s era and still widely used today. They are very versitle and can cover a lot of the same ground as some of the other Junos.

This one comes from a smoke free studio and is overall very preserved, considering it’s age and working life. There is wear across the casing and bottom.

“In excellent working order, such a powerful analog synth. Don’t be put off by the lack of knobs and sliders, I’ve been using a readily available max4live device to send midi Cc messages via ableton push, and it really opens up the possibilities of what the synth can do.

As well as the factory presets, I downloaded and installed a really high quality set of user patches.

It does not have the famous “hoover” patch currently loaded, but you can have some fun programming that yourself.

This synth is about so much more than the rave patches. “Roland ALPHA JUNO 1 Vintage Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer. Functions great, all keys and buttons working (portamento button requires a harder press but functions), all voices working, all keys and controls work great, screen in excellent condition (backlight is a little dim but clearly visible in low light). Volume slider cap is missing but not needed. With original power cord and photocopied manual. These Juno’s are getting harder and harder to find with everything functioning.

Sounds amazing… filters are not quite as characterful as the earlier Junos but the oscillator options (like PWM on sawtooth!) and chorus enhancements make up for that. Amazing phasey pads and drone atmospheres, and can get quite experimental when pushed.

Cosmetically there are some rubs on the finish on the sides and corners, a bit of wear on the front panel lettering and a couple of tiny indentations on the membrane panel, but these are pretty minor and presents as a very nice example.” Click here to search for synths on eBay

I have had the Juno 1 for best part of 25 years. It is showing some wear and issues are

two keys are not working, one of the keys also does not spring back as it should. The octave up and down buttons do not work and the volume slider is scratchy when being used (its stable once set)

The synth itself plays fine. All the soft touch buttons work and screen is good. Personally I have never had it repaired and use it as a MIDI sound module to get all those classic Alpha Juno sounds, if you did want to repair it the issues seem to be mechanical rather than anything else, I would expect them to be cleaning of contacts but I am no expert. ”

Ive cleaned it all up, and the sound is as fresh as it was back in 87. The only flaw in this amazing retro synth is , when i found it and purchased it, it didnt work. I traced the problem eventually to a bad power cable, i looked but was unable to find a proper power cable for it, so i removed the bad one, and soldered in a new power cable. It works perfectly now, amd sounds fantastic. I would keep it, but im already overloaded with equipment in my studio, and just would not be able to give this lovely lady the attention she deserves. Buy it today, ill ship it out to you as fast as i can. Run your fingers across her ivory, and if you play her just so, I swear You can still feel , and hear echoes from the 80s. “This Roland Alpha 1 is in great working condition. All membrane buttons, wheels and switches work as expected. The keys all still play great and have good response. There are some minor scratches (mostly on the bottom) due to being 35 years old but nothing major.

I’ve really enjoyed this synth and primarily bought it because I didn’t want to pay the extremely high prices the other Juno models are going for these days. It does a great job of producing those lush 80’s pads along with a multitude of other patches. I really enjoyed this one, but alas I must make room for more gear and I’m just not using this as much as I’d like. Always used in a smoke free studio, gigged lightly.”

“For sale here is the oft forgotten and thus very affordable, yet extremely rich and lush Alpha Juno 2. I will just say this machine has beautiful analog filters that I love. Vintage Synth Explorer gives it an “Excellent Rating”. This particular synth has very minimal visible wear or noticeable use as you can see in the pictures. It plays beautifully with full functionality. The LCD is very visible (usually means lows hours) and everything functions wonderfully. Included in this package is the Roland PG-300 controller which gives a VCR slider for every parameter in the synth. The PG-300 has a small dent near the logo as visible in the picture and some tape goo from the previous owner. I did want to use a chemical solution in case it damaged the PG-300 to get the goo off – but I’m sure it will come off very easily. Alpha Juno 1 Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer:

Synth works perfectly (including the display and controls), however two cosmetic issues: 1 stuck middle c key, and the pitch bender knob doesn’t work (not octane changer, those are fine). This has been irrelevant to both me and the previous owner, as controlling it by MIDI gives you access to aftertouch (velocity sensitivity)–the built-in-keyboard lacks this crucial feature. I bought it this way and enjoyed it for years because it truly is a non-issue issue if you are recording.
