The joystick cannot be held in the middle because the spring seems to be off.

A great sounding early eighties original polysynth with six voices. Great condition.

This one is unmolested. There are a few well known DIY modifications possible if you’re any good with a soldering iron and a drill. I’ve preferred to leave mine unscathed.

Only one thing to be aware of: Pitch/Mod joystick only works in the Y (modulation) direction and does nothing when moved in the X (pitch) direction. This has never been an issue for me in the years I’ve had it as I’ve always controlled it remotely over MIDI.”

“Collectors item! There are plenty of these on the market but rarely do they come up in such superb condition.

Apart from a barely noticeable hairline scratch on the corner and a tiny nick in the joystick plate, also hard to spot, the keyboard is in really mint condition throughout. Please see extensive photos.

There is no wear around the volume knob or other controls, the display is mint, the plastics are possibly the cleanest and best condition you will find anywhere, both front and rear.

Comes with original power adapter, patches cassette tape, and the all important preload program list which includes patch data. Also this is in its original box!.”

“It was working till a week ago. Then the buttons became somewhat unresponsive. I’ve opened it to replace the battery and when it came on since. It now shows no life with either batteries or psu. Sold for spares/faulty – no turns.

“Korg Poly800 Vintage Analogue 8 Voice poly synth with Atomahawk capabilities.
I’m flogging this as there are a couple of issues but this is totally useable and still sounds
amazing so please read on.
Sound engine and all keys function as they should. The only issues are as follows;

1. When using the LFO stick on the left of the synth, it doesn’t physically stick but the LFO stays activated.
This has never been a problem for me as I don’t use it.

2. The ON/Volume knob is a bit iffy. Once you’ve switched it off, you’ll need a few attempts at switching
it back on. I just leave it up permanently and use the mains to switch on all my gear anyway, so again,
has never been an actual problem for me.

3.Now, this synth has the Atomahawk upgrade but I wanted to just use it in its original state so I
disconnected the unit inside the synth so that I could use the original parameters. This worked but a few
of the parameters numbers don’t correspond to the parameters board located on the top right of the synth.
To get around this i have put some sticky labels to remind me what numbers to punch in to change the

This machine is a little funky to program but once you get the hang of it you’ll find that it’s loaded with a wide variety of lush and dynamic tones, and the design is nice and compact and well made. Very cool! Sure to make a great addition to your studio or live setup. “Up for sale is a Korg Poly 800 from the early 80s. It works but has a few issues, at some point, someone removed the write “program enable/disable” switch from the rear of the unit

and moved it to the top of the unit in the form of a mini toggle. It still works to save patches, but has to be massaged just right. All the original patches have been wiped clean, so every available patch (save a few that I’ve programmed) will need to be created to your liking and saved. There is also an added RCA plug and knob control (don’t seem to affect anything). All the keys, modulation stick (awesome) and editing functions, adjustment controls seem to work fine. I have not tried any sequencing or MIDI. Basically, this synth works but is not quite in fully working factory condition. It may need repair to fully perform as intended and is being sold as-is as a project, or for parts. There are fresh batteries installed so all patches created have the ability to be saved.
