“Just recently serviced, tuned, calibrated etc. List of maintenance includes:

-Removed, cleaned and reinstalled bus bars
-Cleaned key contact springs
-Recapped all electrolytics
-Replaced both sets of cinch jones connectors
-Recalibrate, tuned, scaled

The keys play really smooth and it sounds great. I inherited this and don’t really have a use for it.”

“Late 70s to early 80s Minimoog D WITH Kenton MIDI professionally installed by an ex Moog tech from back in the day. The Kenton Midi works perfectly with no glitch, lag or weird issues… it RAWKS! As does the Mini itself, The keys feel great, play great, all knobs work as they should although there are a couple that are a little scratchy when moved… only when moved (deoxit will clean er up).
The tracking and scaling is amazingly sweet as is the RAW SHEER POWERFUL tone from this classic beauty. Remember, i have a Voyager XL… they do NOT sound at all the same. In my book, the only semblance they share is three oscillators and a filter… the sound is completely different. While the XL is a modern gentleman, the old Mini is a Raw, Bold, grab you by the dandelions kinda sound. So there.. grab it if you want a bitchin’ classic beast because i might change my mind and pull this ad.

By the way as you can see it looks great too, but does have scuffs, wear, etc.”

” Vintage Moog Minimoog Model D – One Original Owner now selling. I bought the Minimoog in about 1977 or 1978 New from Naperville music in the western suburbs of Chicago. The Serial # looks like it is Serial # 10460. However, the serial number stamp is very light and it may be 10468? This instrument has been stored for about 40 years in a custom travel case. I have loved this instrument, but it was rarely played the first few years I owned it and then locked away ever since. I have tested the operation and all keys, oscillators, pots, filters, switches and wheels are working properly.

There is a cosmetic issue with the right side and the rear of the walnut case. The foam in the travel case degraded over 40 years and bonded with the lacquer finish on the cabinet. I removed as much of the foam as possible manually. Then I tried a bit of soap and water to remove the remaining foam from the finish. When this did not work, I tried some lemon oil and that softened the foam embedded into the lacquer. I then attempted to use a plastic card to remove some of the softened foam off of the wood finish but it appeared that the laquer was also coming off. Rather than continue attempts to remove the foam and damage the finish I have left it as is. This case may be cleaned up, refinished, or restored or there are new replacement cases available. I have left the case restoration decisions up to the new owner or the new owner may just decide to play this instrument as it was designed to be. Everything about this synthesizer is original and functional. It does not deserve to be stored away in a box anymore.

It is well past the time for this amazing instrument to be owned by someone who can truly appreciate it and create music with it as it’s inventor would have wanted. The travel case will be included with the Minimoog but the foam in the case on the right and the rear needs to be replaced. I have included photos of all of the above. If you know this synth, there’s little more to say, if you don’t, it has been and always will be the greatest synth every created. We are slimming down our setup, and as we have so much Moog gear including other Minimoogs, this is a reluctant sale, and the best of the lot.It’s been serviced in the last month by our synth tech Nick Montoya of Moog Music.

” Very good cosmetic condition for its age, one missing knob and the silver part of another knob is missing. These can be found online on ebay for less than $15 a piece. Some scratches and scuffing but still a nice Minimoog. Functional but may require a tuning to be in tip top shape which is advisable when purchasing any synth that will be transported far from its original location. Also included is a full on Kenton MIDI Retrofit kit which cost me close to $400. I never got around to installing it but it would make this Mini totally complete. So that kit is unused, uninstalled, and fully complete. Also, this is the NEW OSC version as the serial number is above 10XXX which greatly improves the tuning stability of these beautiful instruments. Sad to see her go but it is what it is.
