“Roland MC-202 – excellent condition. Includes power adapter. This is an analog synthesizer/sequencer. It sounds very much like the TB-303 and SH-101 bass synths. Sometimes considered the “poor man’s 303″. It has a very evolved form of TB-303 like programming (more like the MC-4) and SH-101 like controls of the VCO, VCF, VCA, LFO, Envelope and Mixer sections. The LCD display is a great feature too.”

“One of a kind Roland MC-202 that I have had in my possession for about the past 10 years. Kept in a smoke free environment. Stored in flight case when not in use. Recently cleaned all sliders and replaced any broken or bent plastic sliders and knobs. Slight yellowing of soft keys but this is normal due to age. Overall great condition with no known issues.

This unit has a very rare MIDIJACK midi mod which allows to be played direct from a midi source just like a keyboard making it perfect for live performances or jamming in the studio. The input jack is located on the right side. Other MC-202s when used with a midi converter or external source will have a brief delay meaning you are unable to keep it in sync. The mod allows you to choose the mc202 to be controlled by external midi data by pressing a button on the front or internal sequencer. More instructions on using the midijack are available online. Internal sequencer is still fully functional with this mod.

Additionally, it has a modded LFO. The switch allows you to switch between standard LFO speed and what I believe to be is at least 2 times normal LFO speed for very fast oscillation. Again, this mod is very rare and I have not seen any others like it.”

“Selling my MC202.

It is a bit dirty, with lots of scratches and small cracks. I received it in this condition too.

It is in perfect working order despite this, and was serviced a month before I purchased it (18 months).

It has the Kenton CV mod/upgrade, meaning it is usable in large midi set ups. I purchased this upgrade and it was installed by Kenton engineers. The mod itself cost £110.

I also tested it individually, not within my set up, and all keys work fine.

I used it with a Kenton Pro 2000 MK2, which I am also selling. I am selling the mc202 due to downsizing my studio and I already have similar gear.

Due to its scruffy appearance, I will be selling for a cheaper-than-usual Buy It Now price, as I’m looking for a quick sale.

Up for sale is ROLAND MC-202analog synthesizer / sequencer. Sounds very much like the popular TB-303 and SH-101 bass synths.

The unit appears to be working fine, all the keys and knobs and buttons working well to the best of my knowledge.

Cosmetically, the unit is in nice condition as you can see. There are some minor wear and marks here and there with some small chips on some of the rubber buttons as pictured, but nothing too major. The battery compartment is clean, worked fine with batteries as well as with a power supply. I’m including plenty of pictures so you can see exactly how it looks.

“I’m selling my Roland MC-202. If you’re looking at this you probably already know what it is, but it’s basically a cross between an SH-101 and a TB-303. It sounds basically identical to an SH-101, but in lieu of a proper keyboard has a unique phrase sequencer capable of doing TB-303-esque ties/slides. In other words, it’s a great synth for classic acid sounds.

One annoying thing about the MC-202 is that normally the way it handles external CV/Gate input is that it routes them through it’s internal processor and the end result is not pretty (do some Google/YouTube searches to see what I mean). Luckily, this unit has been modified so CV/Gate behaves the way you’d expect it to. Most other MC-202s you will see on the market will not have this mod and many unknowing buyers are sorely disappointed when they realize they have to pay for Kenton or someone else to do the mod for them.

In addition to the CV/Gate mod, this unit has been fitted with a new output jack.

Some minor issues to report:
– The potentiometer (knob) for tempo control is a little wobbly/bent/sticky compared to the others but works completely fine as long as you’re patient with it.
– The headphone jack was replaced the same time as the output jack, and looks nice and new. However, for some reason unknown to me it only plays out of the left headphone. Probably an easy fix, but I literally never use headphones with it so never bothered to look into it.
– Not necessarily an issue, as this was also the case with my SH-101, but the plastic caps on the sliders tend to come off easily if you turn the unit upside down or transport it. They easily go back on, and all the sliders work fine. ” Click here to search for synths on eBay
