There are two small cracks in the wood on the left hand side. (See photos). The one on top left is barely noticeable. And the one on back bottom left you can’t see when you are using the poly6 because it’s on the bottom part of the unit. Neither effects the sound or the way the unit sits in any way. ”

“Korg Polysix with Kiwitechnics Kiwisix Upgrade.
Here for sale is a Korg Polysix WITH a Kiwisix upgrade. Why so cheap? First, because I want to actually meet the buyer. I’m not going to ship it. We could arrange something where I drive and meet you somewhere. Second, because the Kiwisix upgrade isn’t finished. The Kiwisix board has been installed but the tuning procedure has not been done. Because of this each octave of the keyboard is slightly out of tune. A few keys are not responsive and will need conductive paint applied to them or new rubber key contacts. All of the controls work, but to access some of the additional Kiwisix functions further modifications must be done. All of this is explained in the Kiwisix manual. The keyboard does make audio come out of its outputs as it should. The original KLM-387A board is included, complete with fried traces from where the battery leaked out. The synthesizer has had the following work undertaken:

Keys removed from keyed and individually cleaned, together with the keybed PCB contacts and rubber actuator.
A full PSU recap
New KLM-367A replacement board installed from Synthtronics
All 19 tact switches have been replaced with quality Omron switches.
LED on Manual button has been modded with an amber light together with an amendment to the resistor.
Each knob and switch cap has been through a Retrobrite process (to de-yellow) – it looks stunning.
All potentiometers and switches have been cleaned, lubricated and deoxidised.
Each screw has been removed and deoxidised to give a classy “gun metal” appearance.
Finally, it has fully calibrated and the factory patches re-loaded.”

“I’m selling my beloved Kiwisix modded Polysix.It’s in pretty nice shape for it’s age. There’s a few dings and the sides aren’t perfect but it’s not bad.I installed the Kiwisix mod and went through and followed the calibration procedure in the manual. Now it has midi!I also installed the graphic overly so it’s easier to navigate the Kiwisix mod.If you want to keep it original the overlay just peels off.I took it off and stuck it on again without any issues.The front panel under the overlay is in good shape.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

“I found out the sub-oscillator stops working from time to time and it seems to be a loose connector on the replaced board inside the synth. I first discovered this when I took the synth off its stand and placed it on a table. Before that the synth was working completely fine. So i figured out that when the sub oscillator stops, I need to open up the panel and gently touch the appropriate connector on the board, to move it just a little bit and then it all gets back to normal, so I assume it should be rather an easy fix. 1980’s Korg Polysix, with Manual. I played this in the late 80’s and early 90’s and has been sitting in the closet for a couple decades. It turns on, lights come on, but has no output. Obvious battery damage, common to the Polysix, on circuit board shown in photos. I do not know if there are issues besides the battery leakage damage. “Beautiful condition! The sides are not banged up. The key finish is not worn. Never traveled with it- always kept in the house. It does not have speakers. You must connect it to and exterior amplifier, recorder, etc. This is VINTAGE … it is not USB-enabled.

It does have a 1/4″ headphone jack. I have not used this in many, many years. It does turn on. It does play thru my headphones There is static when you turn volume control (typical for potentiometers this age but can be serviced). Turning the various knobs does change the sound output but I do not remember what each should do so I cannot tell you if they are all doing what they were designed to do. This Polysix has just come from a service. This included a power-supply refurbishment. This vintage beast is sounding great and a pleasure to play.

A new memory battery has been installed and factory patches have been loaded in for the new owner.

This Polysix is in good condition. It shows some wear on the faceplate, mostly along the top edge, as well as some cracks and nicks in the veneer. There is some surface oxidisation on the back of the unit. There is nothing major and nothing which detracts from the use, functions or sound of the synth.
