I have had this a long long time, and over the years it has seen more action than Axel Rose.

Over the years I have had hard Red Oak sides put on, as the chipboard that was originally there was just falling to bits as they all do.

I have not used it for over a year, but it is fully functioning. Just needs some switch cleaner in the volume knob as it is a little scratchy when turned. With time and use this should dissipate.

Also, where the modulation/Pitch bend joystick is, the panel does move a bit. It has done this since the sides were replaced but it does not affect playing or using of the joystick. It could use some shorter screws in it I think. Just never bothered with it as it did not detract from its use. Just thought I would mention it as someone may want to fix that.

Only used in smoke free studio, never used personally at gigs.

Internal battery replaced approx 1 year ago. Sounds amazing.

Only selling to free up some studio space and lack of use lately.

Sad to see this go to be honest. But I hope it goes to a good home and gets used in some great tracks.

“This is in great condition and sounds fantastic! I recorded a video of this exact synth to demonstrate playing presets, the different modes, editing presets and more. See photos for visual condition, this synth looks very nice and presents very well. 

The joystick is working great, volume, joystick bend and frequency, tuning, arpeggio knobs are working great. Buttons are tested and working, arp switches are working as expected. All keys are playing. Poly / chord memory / hold functions were tested and working, see the video for a demonstration of these. The synth sounds excellent.

I did not test the to / from tape jacks, or the prog up / release / arp trig in jacks as I do not have anything to test them with. If I did not cover something in the description or video demo please consider it untested, however I did spend quite a bit of time with this synth over the years and put time into the video to show it in action. The synth has a lot of features and believe I covered the majority of what anyone would use. As with any 30+ year old synthesizer this may need service to be 100% up to spec, however as seen in the video this is working very well and sounds excellent.”

“Korg Poly 61 Polyphonic Synthesizer Fully Working With MIDI & CPU Board Upgrade

This is a 1981 Korg Poly 61 Polyphonic analogue synthesizer. This item is fully working with some upgrades. The unit has a brand new CPU board known as the cKLM-509A. This is a brand new, high quality, exact clone board of the old CPU board which was prone to failure. The other upgrade is added MIDI-IN function. You can noticed the daughter board on the last image and the MIDI-IN socket on the back. This synthesizer didn’t come with MIDI when it was first made. All key contacts have been cleaned and recoated. All keys and functions work. The exterior does have some blemishes please see images.
The only fault is the joystick. The joystick function works but in the up-down direction gets kind of stuck. Not sure if it needs lubrication. Also comes with a printed owner’s manual.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

“Korg Poly-61M MIDI Synthesizer. Serviced and with NEW CPU board installed.

This is the original Korg Poly-61M, a great sounding polysynth with the factory MIDI. Poly61 are known for many developed defects, the most dangerous is a backup battery leak which destroys the CPU memory. The original battery was replaced, several years ago, however the acid leak continued to develop and destroy traces and joints until one day it stopped working completely. At that point, it became obvious it can be worse in the future, and the new CPU board was installed a month ago. This is newly manufactured board from Synthronics in Germany. So, the lesson here – never trust somebody who replaced the battery because original battery leaked already, with 99% chance it will fail anyway.

The second problem of all Poly61 is connectors. Connectors and cables get oxidized over a time and no longer can work reliably even after you clean them. They simply no longer hold the contact. This synth has all problematic connectors replaced (all cables in black on photo are new wires).

And finally power supply was serviced with premium Nichicon original audio grade caps.

Everything else is untouched. Original buttons, pots and keys work. The overall condition is very clean. It comes with the original case where it was stored the most of its life. It hasn’t been used much at all. The proof of all work is on photos. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay

3. Number 1 section key needs a good jab. Needs a clean I think.

Korg Poly 61, works perfectly, in really nice cosmetic condition, all voices work, battery has been changed with new battery and moved away from circuit board, there has never been any battery acid corrosion etc, all buttons work fine, MIDI kit installed that has a MIDI in connection (The MIDI port is connected to a MIDI cable that you can plug into your DAW/MIDI out etc).

A Poly 61 with a MIDI in port is brilliant and makes it infinitely more fun than a standard Poly 61.

If you have lusted after a Poly 61 the this is the one – This model here looks great, sounds great and the MIDI in is the cherry on the cake.”

The sound from the device is great but there is an issue with some sticking/dead keys (see video linked below). Turns on,display shows some numbers and some scrambled
infos.
Makes sound,many function operates but does not trigger properly,

Unit motherboard was damaged by the usual battery leak,
it has been repaired a few times throughout the years,it was working properly until

” Korg Poly-61M completely refurbished, new oak chassis, new switches, Beautiful !

This synth was in very good condition, even before I refurbed it. I just wanted to create the best possible P-61M I could. It has never had a battery leakage, although I have updated the battery to a modern 3.6V lithium coin battery (2032) with an easy access battery holder. I refurbished the keyboard, cleaning it thoroughly piece by piece, and after polishing all the contacts, I applied the little carbon discs to each contact, as seen at sounddoctorin.com. It’s a brilliant fix, so now the keys play like new. Then I replaced all the program buttons’ switches with brand new ones, which fixes the annoying problem of not getting the buttons to work properly. Now, they are perfect. See the photo of the switch board with new (blue) switches. Then I built a brand new solid oak chassis for the synth, so as you can see, it is gorgeous, and now more solid than new. It was finished with a Satin Ebony polyurethane that goes very well with the gray panel. All pots lubricated, new knobs, all bolts and inserts for the chassis are new, and new rubber feet.
