“First, it should be clear that this is a USED, VINTAGE synthesizer/keyboard. This is from the estate of a jazz player who used this for several years. It shows signs of wear and use, and while it has been tested out extensively by another jazz player, we cannot be certain that every combination of options have been tried and tested… a really great musical tool, but it is what it is!!! The only noted minor issue is that the Bb3 key is slightly bent to one side and occasionally sticks a little. I don’t expect that this is hard to adjust, but I am not a keyboard technician, and if I paid one the price might go too high. “Original KORG MS-20 mfg. between 1978 and 1983. Made in Japan. Being sold as “parts not working” because there are some scratchy pots and I am not a good enough synthesis person to accurately test how this is supposed to sound. Here’s what I know: It powers up and when I open up the filters all the way it seems to sound like it should. Here is what I have been able to test as best I can and feel confident listing: All keys working with no sticky keys. Both VCOs work (waveform select, tuning, octave, mix) seem to work as should. Filters (1 high pass and 1 low pass) with peak (resonance) also seem to work as should. All the Envelope Generator stages seem to control ADSR as they should and the modulation generator (LFO) seems to work as should. Portamento too. What I am not sure about is the modulation wheel. When I patch out of the Mod Wheel CV out jack I can get it to work on by patching into one of the VCO in jacks changing the pitch of one of the VCOs (not sure which one) and it only bends up. I am not sure what the button below the mod wheel does and don’t know how to test it. Again, the main reason sold as parts-not-working is the scratchy pots issue and I am not sure how to program and really test all the patch points to know if it is working 100% properly. Please make sure you are OK with that before bidding. Feel free to ask questions and if there is something you want me to test I will be happy to do so and report back. A bit history on this… I purchased it in late 1993 and it has sat in my smoke-free office unused since. So it essentially not been powered up for the last 25 years. So in spite of the scratchy pots, is is a low-hours item. Since sold as Parts-Not Working there are no returns, no inspection periods. ”

Comes with quarter-inch cable, MIDI cable, sustain pedal and stand. Keyboard stand has rust damage on it. Feels sturdy and has the pads on the bottom and top.”

“Tested – Fully Functional
“I have been the sole owner of this synth and have kept it in excellent condition. I have tested every slider, knob, pot, and key, and everything is fully functional! When I opened the case to inspect the components, I was pleased to see that it was nearly spotless. (See pics) The battery is old but in great shape and when I put it on the meter, it maintained a steady 3.3 volts. (Brand new it is rated at 3.6 volts.) All patches are intact and fully functional. The carbon contacts that sit under each key had oxidized with age, as would be expected, so they have been restored and all 61 keys work perfectly. I also connected the MIDI input to my Korg M1 and was able to trigger the Poly-61 as intended.
