“Up for sale is a Korg Poly 800 with full Atomahawk upgrade in great condition technically and cosmetically.

The upgrade gives 84 additional parameters which transform this already beautiful synth into a wild sound design machine while still providing you with the original parameters.

Additional parameters include frequency modulation, super lfo, aggressive resonance settings and lots of really interesting additional waveforms and modulation routing options.

Also there is no need to replace the battery for patch storage as the upgrade takes care of all of that.

One minor issue is that the dco mod stick can stick periodically. I never use this so has never been a problem.

Comes with power supply.

“You are bidding on a Korg Poly-800. This is a classic analog synth from the 80’s. I am the original owner. I bought it brand new back in 1985, and it has always been kept in a dry, smoke-free environment. All the keys still have their original spring action and work perfectly. The joystick and all the buttons work perfectly as well, and the display is nice and bright with no faulty segments.

Cosmetically, the synth is in great shape for its age. There are some minor scuffs and scrapes, the worst of them being along the rear of the unit. The only other cosmetic blemish of note would be the bezel surrounding the joystick. At one point, the adhesive lifted and the bezel got snagged causing it to crack (see photos). I have taped it back down with some double sided tape, but it is starting to lift back up. It should probably be glued down, but I’ll leave that to the new owner.

I am including the original Korg power adapter and the original casette tape with all the default sound files.”

I brought this refurbished from eBay around 10-15 years ago. I believe it has had a new battery installed (I cant see any signs of damage on the motherboard) as well an additional memory bank – this can be toggled on and off using a switch (See pictures)

It works intermittently, times when it doesn’t work the volume is very low – sometimes it has to warm up. Not all keys work – maybe 10 of the 61 are dodgy (theres a delay) and the pots are noisy. The case shows wear and tear, especially on the feet and the back. The digital display and the number selector doesn’t work correctly – sometimes different numbers show – i.e. a 7 for a 1. Sometimes, pressing a parameter button will trigger a note – quite odd – sometimes a weird high pitched buzzing sound is played alongside a note. Defiantly a project for a someone who knows what they are doing and TBH I don’t have the time or patient to mess around with it. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay
