It has a battery holder and is powered by 6 AA batteries. It does not come with a power cord. “Korg Poly-800 mkII with “moog slayer mod” which apparently means someone installed a cutoff and resonance knob at their expense on top (and killed the pitch bend in the process). Not a big deal to me because I never needed a “pitch bend”, but it only seems to work for up/down mod, not pitch bend, maybe I’m doing something wrong. Everything seems to work fine otherwise, although the power cable is a little wonky if you move it around and a small scratch near the LED. “I just had this serviced about 4 months ago at SWITCHED-ON in Austin Texas. New Battery and some of the number buttons replaced. This is in pretty great shape for a 35 year old synth. I reprogrammed most of the original presets using the enclosed printout of the preload program list. Really much easier to program than my DX-7. Sometimes the number buttons need to be pressed twice to enter the number or sometimes you press once and the number enters in twice – this has always been an issue with this model as well as the Poly-800 and DW-8000. In excellent condition, the synth shows a few light scuffs to the wooden end cheeks and some light scuffs and scratches to the control panel, but remains in remarkably good condition for its age. I would confidently say, you’d do well to find a better example out there.
The synth has been tested extensively and there are no faults, every aspect operates perfectly. Any Korg 770 is a rare find, but an early one with wooden end cheeks in this condition, they won’t come along that often.
