Our Synthesizer is in GOOD VINTAGE condition, showing normal use marks with some corner damage – and 7 of the keys do not perform correctly. They are numbered in the pictures – with description of the misfunction listed below.
We do not have all of the correct equipment to completely test this unit.
Nothing rattles when moving the unit.
We know it powers on, with no issue and completely silent.
All of the keys, except one, depress and come back with a nice amount of spring.
1 – WORKS – but gets lightly stuck when pressed
2 thru 7 – does not make the board light-up
EVERY SINGLE flip switch moves perfectly with the correct amount of resistance to hold the selection.
EVERY SINGLE knob turns smoothly.

“one of the very few 2 voice polyphonic synths ever created. What does that mean? Much like the Oberheim TVS, the 800DV has two completely independent voices, 2 osc, 2 filters, 2 envelopes, 2 VCA’s. Add to that two sub osc, 2 ring modulators, 2 independent vibrato and portamento’s, everything independent for each voice, with the very unique repeat function which can be set for both voices or one voice.
This unit has some fading to the silkscreen controls, but otherwise is in nice shape and all original and in good working order. It is 240v and will need a step transformer to be used in the U.S. ”

I was on the fence about installing a Tubbutec Unipulse to enable midi triggering of sounds and sync of presets but I’m really slimming down my hardware so decided to sell rather than invest another £200-300. Unipulse is fab though and it was installed on my recently sold Minipops 7 (check feedback!) so definitely worth considering.
Anyway, for want of a better word this is a really cool little drum machine. Preset only but 48 rhythms and an onboard mixer (but mono out) mean there is quite a bit of variation. Great on board swing that goes from subtle (where it’s mean to be) right through to panicking that it’s broken as it suddenly sounds whacky! The korg needs an internal battery replacement, Will have to hold down both the value UP and DOWN buttons together while turning on the unit and works fine when doing so. “This is in great condition and sounds fantastic! I recorded a video of this exact synth to demonstrate playing presets, the different modes, editing presets and more. See photos for visual condition, this synth looks very nice and presents very well.
The joystick is working great, volume, joystick bend and frequency, tuning, arpeggio knobs are working great. Buttons are tested and working, arp switches are working as expected. All keys are playing. Poly / chord memory / hold functions were tested and working, see the video for a demonstration of these. The synth sounds excellent.
I did not test the to / from tape jacks, or the prog up / release / arp trig in jacks as I do not have anything to test them with. If I did not cover something in the description or video demo please consider it untested, however I did spend quite a bit of time with this synth over the years and put time into the video to show it in action. The synth has a lot of features and believe I covered the majority of what anyone would use. As with any 30+ year old synthesizer this may need service to be 100% up to spec, however as seen in the video this is working very well and sounds excellent.”

In fabulous condition. A few surface marks and a slight dint underneath the ‘G’ of Korg on the front. I’ve shown two pics of that as you can really only see it when it catches the light. A great sounding early eighties original polysynth with six voices. Great condition.
This one is unmolested. There are a few well known DIY modifications possible if you’re any good with a soldering iron and a drill. I’ve preferred to leave mine unscathed.
Only one thing to be aware of: Pitch/Mod joystick only works in the Y (modulation) direction and does nothing when moved in the X (pitch) direction. This has never been an issue for me in the years I’ve had it as I’ve always controlled it remotely over MIDI.”

“Wonderful synth in great condition as can be seen in pics. Full working order. Was given a service when in the hands of the previous owner which is when the back plate sadly went missing.
I’ve had this for several years now and although it really does sound fantastic I rarely use it as I primarily source all my sounds from acoustic instruments. The bass is something else though, and not to be imitated or replaced… people always comment on the bass when used in recordings. The inherent noise adds so much texture and warmth, something you cant get on newer synths, not to this extent anyway.”

“Collectors item! There are plenty of these on the market but rarely do they come up in such superb condition.
Apart from a barely noticeable hairline scratch on the corner and a tiny nick in the joystick plate, also hard to spot, the keyboard is in really mint condition throughout. Please see extensive photos.
There is no wear around the volume knob or other controls, the display is mint, the plastics are possibly the cleanest and best condition you will find anywhere, both front and rear.
Comes with original power adapter, patches cassette tape, and the all important preload program list which includes patch data. Also this is in its original box!.”
