“I tested this keyboard to the best of my ability. It doesn’t have any of the disks so I was only able to create sounds using the create wave form of function. Everything seem to be working fine I was able to make some pretty cool sounds. The bend an oscillator and VCF knob works great the LCD is in good condition all the keys work. I don’t have a disk to test the drive with. I can post this with DPD tracked to your door or you can collect in person from Blandford Forum, Dorset or Bournemouth, Dorset if easier.

This Korg DW-8000 was bought from the band’s official ebay site ‘ningear’ back in 2009 when Nine Inch Nails sold their studio and tour gear after calling it quits (thankfully they reformed later!).

I’ve included the original pictures from the auction so you can compare or for a bit of reassurance this is a genuine sale. The serial number matches up with the serial from the listing. You can find numerous sites online still like NME which mention the band and selling their equipment through ningear. “There seems to have been two or three versions of this synth produced in different variants, this one is the version with no built in speaker. This synth is working (see video) but keep in mind that most vintage synths need maintenance at some point.

“e.This was my Dad’s Korg Polysix Analog synthesizer. This came out in 1981. Even when everyone was moving towards digital equipment in the late 80s, these keyboards still held their own and were highly desirable! Judging by the sale price of other Polysixes here on Marketplace and Ebay, they still are! My dad loved it and took great care of it. I learned that one issue with these keyboards is that eventually the battery expires and they tend to leak acid if not replaced, and that can lead to serious damage to the circuit board where the battery is mounted. I opened it up to have a look and as you can see by the pictures, the battery has not leaked at all. It is possible that my dad was aware of this issue and either replaced it or this battery didn’t burst or leak. My dad is not here to ask so I leave that up to you. New lithium batteries for this unit cost around $30. This keyboard is in great condition for its age – inside and out. In one of the pictures you’ll notice that 1 of the knobs is not original.
