“I purchased this new in the early 90s. Time to let it go. I recently spent about 10+ hours of time with this unit transfering old song parts to the computer, consequently I know it’s working just fine. It’s in excellent condition. There is a security plate attached to the bottom of the unit that I used to secure the keyboard at a live gig. I’ve also etched out (removed) my name and ID number that I engraved on the bottom of the unit. Original AC Adapter included along with the original manuals. “This auction is for a Vintage Kawai K1 61 Key Digital Synthesizer Keyboard. I have had this unit for a couple of years but didn’t use it very often. Everything worked as it should and sounded great. I pulled it out a couple of weeks ago and for some reason it lost all the sounds in it’s song back. No matter what bank you pick the sound remains the same so it only has one sound and it does change pitch with each key. I have looked online and found that the sounds can be reinstalled and with a quick search on ebay I found sellers selling CD’s with all the original sounds and some people even had modified sounds. ” Vintage Kawai K4 Digital 16bit Synth from the late 80’s.
Synth looks good with some minor wear, all keys seem to work(one has minor chip) see pics.
Synth boots up but only has one sound, i am guessing someone changed the battery and lost the factory presets and never loaded them back on, a easy fix if you know how and a free download.
The biggest issue is the Volume slider has a lot of noise, it works but not right, maybe just needs cleaned but may need to be replaced.

“Late 1980’s digital synth. I made a few cool old school techno/rave saw leads with it, but it’s good for other music styles also, like Industrial or 80’s new wave. The dark electro-industrial band Clock DVA used one during their peak time in the early 1990’s.
