“Tested, working and very much enjoyed Ensoniq ESQ-1 Synth
Fitted with sqx-10 sequencer expansion
A couple of minor cosmetic issues that can be seen in the photos:
– Plastic data entry slider knob missing (doesn’t affect operation)
– Cart B button is missing (I think it’s actually in the synth but I don’t have time to dissemble and retrieve). Doesn’t affect usage unless Carts are being used
I originally imported this from the USA so for UK use it works with a transformer plug. The person who sold it to me had it serviced before I purchased it in 2014.
The transformer plug hums a little bit (this doesn’t affect sound coming out of the synth it’s just the ambient sound in the studio). It wasn’t enough to bother me so I didn’t ever replace it but should be an easy replacement if needed. ”

This is a wavetable synthesizer with analog filters and poly aftertouch. It’s powerful and can sound like vintage digital to warm analog.
This was acquired from an estate and has a note on it stating “calibration failed”. The keyboard powers on and seems to be just fine otherwise. Sold as is.”

“Powers on and gives a message about the battery. ***DOES NOT PLAY SOUNDS*** Somehow I missed a small piece of plastic bag when taking the photos. I circled it in red in the photo. Its not a scratch or stain. Just a piece of plastic bag. Video screen etc was very dirty. It was cleaned afterwards as shown in photos. Has some scuffs, scratches, blemishes etc. Shows normal signs of wear from use and age”

“Ensoniq VFX Electric Keyboard Synthesizer w/ Cartridge – All the keys work. All the presets are functioning. I have used this occasionally for a few certain patches over the past 15 years. The low battery warning always comes up when I turn it on but as soon as I press one of the buttons the warning goes away and it starts calibrating the keyboard & right to working as it should. That is really the only issue but I’ve never had a problem with it. Everything is functioning properly no static in the volume. The pitch and modulation work as well”
