” This DX7 was sitting unused for decades. I brought it to a local tech who had it on the bench and installed a new battery, replaced one key, and failed to get it working. How much work he did, I have no idea. I do know that he threw in the towel before the problem was found. Rather than spin my wheels with other local techs I’m offering this up as is in non-working condition. Physically, it looks like new with very few marks anywhere on the keyboard. Like I say, I’ve got a battery a couple of hours worth of work into it, and It’s time for someone else to bring it back to life. It fires up,but no sound ”

“This synth was tested and working perfectly, but then was shipped and now there is a buzzing tone playing over all the patches. The buzz changes in timbre when you change patch, and settings but is present regardless of patch. It might be a problem with one of the voices, but I can not say for sure, and am about to move across the country, so I do not have time to fix. It is now being sold for parts/repair. ”

“This DX7 is for parts/needs repair. The keyboard powers on and passes signal, you are able to switch through presets, adjust algorithms, and parameters, however, the keyboard seems to have an internal tuning issue. Even when adjusting the master tunes, certain keys seem to always be out. I do not know what is causing this issue and have troubleshot the problem to the best of my capabilities. Other issues with this keyboard is Volume fader knob missing, a minor chassis spilt on the left side, and a slightly loose D 3 key. Selling as is”

THE DX7 PLAYS GREAT FROM THE CARTRIDGE BUT THE INTERNAL SOUNDS ARE EITHER NOT WORKING RIGHT OR WERE PROGRAMMED TO PLAY REALLY WEIRD SOUNDS – THE OWNER DID OWN A YAMAHA TONE GENERATOR (I HAVE LIMITED KNOWLEDGE BUT THERE IS A CMOSS BATTERY THAT IS IN THE KEYBOARD THAT MIGHT NEED TO BE CHANGED – LOOKS LIKE IT WILL JUST POP OUT — SEE PICTURES. I TOOK PICTURED OF THE INSIDE TO SHOW THAT IT IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND YOU CAN SEE THE CMOSS BATTERY. I DON’T KNOW ENOUGH TO REPLACE THE BATTERY AND/OR REPROGRAM THE SOUNDS IF THAT IS THE PROBLEM. THE CASE IS SOLID BUT HAS SOME SIGNS OF WEAR TOO. OVERALL NICE DX7 SYNTHESIZER WITH SIGNS OF WEAR THAT NEEDS A LITTLE SERVICE TO BE PERFECT. SYNTHESIZER IS BEING SOLD AS IS WITH NO RETURNS BECAUSE OF THE WEIGHT AND SHIPPING COST.”

“I am original owner of this Vintage excellent condition never used on the road Yamaha DX7. Everything works as its suppose to. I struggled to buy this state of art Digital keyboard for $2000 dollars from E.U. Wurlitzer Music and Sound in Boston in the early eighties. I used it as a midi controller in my home studio .The DX7 is very well built Keyboard and I never had any issues with mine. My DX7 has never be abused. I have not used it in years but would plug it in to check internal battery every so often over those years( it’s at 4.5 ). The sound of it really bings you back to the 80s.

“I inherited this Synthesizer from my father, and while I am a musician I don’t have use for it. It is in WONDERFUL shape. Everything is working. There isn’t any water damage. The only issue is that there is a crack on the left side of the synthesizer but it doesn’t effect its functionality at all!”
