“This is a Yamaha DX7 synthesizer keyboard. I know very little about keyboards but here is what I see about this one. It seems to work fine and it sounds good. There is a little “door” on the top right side but there is nothing inside the door. I’m guessing there is some kind of plug in item that can go in there to maybe add more features but I don’t know that for sure. The surface has light general wear as would be expected from age and use, but nothing large or serious. I don’t have a manual to operate it so I can’t guarantee that absolutely every function is working. All the buttons work and each button changes something.

” This is a used synth that I acquired and am selling, since it is from the 80’s it has normal cosmetic flaws such as some scratches, a dent in the back, and a cracked piece on the side, all clearly shown in the photos.

Also missing a switch cover by the volume switch. Early model made in 1985, it has plenty of “character” aka dings, stains, small chips/cracks, svc and other various signs of use. “For sale is a used Yamaha DX7IIFD FM Synthesizer. It is a really cool board that I will miss. It is the epitome of 1980s FM synth sounds. Amazing for pads, strings, ambient sounds and more. I bought it used earlier this year from guitar center. It came with its issues. Pitch and mod wheel were wobbly, but they have been tightened and work fine. There is one key that is chipped on the underside, and 2 that are slightly raised (all 3 keys pictured). All keys play normally. The “A” output does not work, but the “B” output and the headphone jack both work fine. The midi output has some strange behavior that I have not been able to troubleshoot. The midi in works fine though. The floppy disc drive seems to be working mostly normally, but I have not been able to successfully format or save to the floppy disks that I have. I do not have any cartridges, therefore have not tested the cartridge slot, but I have no reason to believe that it has any issues. Pedal inputs work normally. Display has no issues. I have not changed the battery personally, but there do not seem to be any battery issues (which can apparently be common with this board if untouched for significant periods of time). There seems to be something rattling around inside when moved, but it does not affect performance. There are obviously scratches and dents that are all pictured. I am selling this “As Is” for these reasons.”

All keys work and have the spring action. The keys feel weighted much like a piano so it plays like one. This is a very high end machine and was top of the line when it was released. The cartridges included are #3 and #4 and a protect able write rewrite cartridge for your own sounds.”
