“This Arp Axxe is sold as is. It does power up and makes sounds but I do not know enough about it to know if it is working correctly. So I am selling it as “not working/parts” but I am sure someone that knows about these will be able to get it working correctly. It has been in storage for a number of years and the foam inside the case was deteriorated and covered the keyboard so it will need to be completely cleaned. The unit has a few scratches and scuffs and one piece of the wood cabinet is broken and missing (see picture with arrows). The anvil case is heavy duty, all of the foam inside has deteriorated as I mentioned earlier and has been removed so you will want to add some new padding. “ARP Omni mk1 that has just recently been fully service, it is in perfect working order and should stay that way for a long time!

Here is a list of all the components that where fixed/replaced in the process,

All caps on the voice boards have been replaced.

Chips have been replaced.

The ensemble unit has been repaired as have the bass notes.

Cosmetically the synth does have scratches and paint chipped due to being left disused by the previous owners. The side wood panels have some knocks and chips as you can see from the photos.

It’s a wonderful synth with a lush sound used by the likes of Duran Duran, it just sounds good! The bass is fat and the strings/synth sit fantastically in a mix.”

For sale is my beloved ARP Odyssey from the 1970s… this is not a korg clone of modern replica, it is the real deal.

The synth is fully functional and in perfect working order.

It has been fully upgraded with a modern slider package as the old ones were absolutely shot after 50 years of use. The sliders have LED centres however an LED driver was never fitted as I thought it would look cheap and tacky.

The cosmetic condition is absolutely unbelievable with not a single mark, scratch or faded patch on the panel, the screen print looks like it was manufactured last year never mind 50 years ago.

The keys are even and play well.

Selling as spares and repairs due to the nature and fragility of these vintage instruments. I would urge any potential buyers to come and take a look at my Liverpool studio where you can put the ARP through its paces for an hour. No returns.”

ARP Odyssey

“This was bought in the 1970s and gently used for several years. It’s been in the closet for over 40 years, in the original manufacturer’s shipping crate, which was converted into a very protective, snugly fitting, foam padded travel case with handle, hasp for a lock, and a hinge added to the lid.

It has NOT been cleaned, polished, or even dusted (I’m not a pro and I don’t want to mar it). This is exactly the way it was stored in the closet after a 40+ year stay.

Having purchased it directly from ARP, I am the original owner.

I plugged it in and hooked it into an amplifier. The red light within the power-switch flickers and I can hear random oscillations, but it does not work as when put away decades ago. It’s never been dropped, damaged, or subjected to moisture damage so it’s likely a minor issue simply in need of servicing.

None of the keys are broken, the instrument is very clean. All but several sliders freely travel full range of motion. All of the switches and dial are intact and functional and only one of the fader’s vinyl caps is missing.

There are no cracks or damage other than some minor scratches here and there.”

“You are bidding on a vintage mark 1 ARP Odyssey synthesizer. This belonged to my dad, who has owned it since he bought it brand new in the spring of 1973. As he loves to note every time we talk about it, this was the first ARP Odyssey to be sold in the Nashville area. He used it while with the various bands he was part of throughout the 1970s before he retired it by the early 80s. Through the many years of disuse that followed its initial retirement, it sat in its travel case in a spare room in our house, its functionality degrading to the point where it needed extensive restoration to work properly. Around 2011, he did just that, replacing pretty much every part of it that became defective over the years – sliders, capacitors, and so on. Afterwards, he used it for a short time with a local classic rock covers band he was part of before replacing it with a much more modern Roland GAIA synth. These days, he no longer needs it, since he’s mostly retired from playing music due to health issues (plus the fact that he’s in need of money at the moment). “ARP String-Ensemble Analog Keyboard Synthesizer by Solina. Manufactured by N.V. Eminent Bodegraven Holland. I bought this String Ensemble in 1978 I think, and used it in my band until around 1983. It has been in storage ever since. I don’t have an amp so I took the keyboard over to a friend’s house, plugged it in, and amazingly, all but three keys work fine. Two keys on the lower register and one on the high register don’t seem to sound. Two of the red plastic things on the sliders are missing. From being in a plywood case lined with foam over the years, some discoloration is there. I don’t recall portable stands being available back then, so I screwed on legs. You can see the holes from that left on the bottom. The plywood box and foam are shot and not included. I have had this unit professionally packaged by UPS. Included are the volume pedal and a 20-foot what I call a guitar cord. I think they’re called instrument cables now. If you’re looking to duplicate many of the hits of the 70s and early eighties, this is for you. Many hits back then used this keyboard sound. The synthesizer is fully working and in good physical condition (these often have rusted front panels, or dented/cracked cases). The original particle board side panels have been replaced with gorgeous hardwood panels and the pilot lamp replaced. The front panel and blocks to the left of the right of the keybed have been repainted, so the original silkscreen for the buttons is no longer present.”

“For your consideration is an ARP Axxe Mk II vintage synthesizer in fantastic functional and cosmetic condition. The instrument was taken apart, cleaned thoroughly, checked for correct operation, and any necessary repairs were made. All switches and sliders were cleaned and lubricated and perform smoothly. The keys were removed, washed and polished and the bus bars and contact wires cleaned and adjusted. The key bushings were replaced recently and are in good condition. As a result the action plays responsively without squeals. The PPC pads work as expected. Notably, a full set of slider caps is present, which is almost never seen on similar units for sale. A full oscilloscope calibration was done and the instrument plays in perfect tune.

Despite being a single oscillator and envelope synth, the Axxe is capable of producing surprisingly strong sounds. The gamut of delicate to aggressive ARP fare is on tap. Mixing the sawtooth and square oscillator waves together results in a quite full sound that stays completely in tune throughout the playing range without the wave cancellations or unintended detuning that two oscillators might create. A way to add motion to this sound is to modulate the pulse width of the square wave with the LFO or envelope (or both). Depending on the speed of the LFO, an effect much like two oscillators beating against each other can be had. This instrument is superb in the bass area, and really sings in the high range.

An IEC power cable will be included. The original slightly damaged wood sides were removed and a pair of new cut-to-match maple replacement sides will be included as well. These are bare and left for the buyer to finish however they see fit. A test board showing stain color possibilities is in one of the pictures. The boards can be attached to the chassis with two-part epoxy available at any home improvement store, and held in place with clamps or even some heavy books until they set.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

“Arp Odyssey Mk1 (Original Vintage) with Added Output Jacks VGC!

This is an original, vintage Arp Odyssey Model 2800 Mk1 “Whiteface” analog synthesizer keyboard. All knobs and sliders work. This Odyssey has had additional jacks for CV, Gate, Trig, and Filter added to the back.

There are some small paint chips on the panel and hairline cracks around on the panel surface underneath which are the circuit board standoffs inside (please see pictures). All of these areas’ surface coating is still bonded to the metal – no serious chipping that I can see. There is one chip in the left-most key out of its bottom-left side. This is not visible unless you look at the key from the side at the right angle. It has no effect on the key’s movement. I have the chip, so if you want to, you can glue it back on. ARP Little Brother

“Up for auction is a hard-to-find ARP Little Brother expander module from the 1970’s. Model number is 2953 and the serial number is 0372. It can be used with other ARP synthesizers of the day such as the Axxe, the Odyssey and the 2600. It offers the following:

– a divide down oscillator that has 4 selectable octaves and 4 selectable wave shapes. Choose one of each or all for that really big sound.

– an LFO for modulating oscillator pitch but can be used to modulate other sources in external synths

This has been in storage for many years and needs some TLC. I did install new capacitors in it a couple of years ago and rebuilt the slide pots. It powers on but I was not able to test it properly. Comes with the original Owner’s Manual and features solid walnut end caps. The front name plate is loose but is included. Also included are (3) 3′ long ARP patch cords.
