” Rare Arp 2601 Synthesizer. It’s time for it to be used to create music again! For many years, it was stored in a spare bedroom closet, and for years, I was going to have it restored and brought up to spec, but alas…, I ran out of time and interest… I did plug it in and turn it on… and all three oscillators generated tone, and they seemed fairly steady (no severe audible drift when tuned to A440 while on). However, I did not go through and test all of the functions and/or all the other modules.
You can see that there were some professional modifications added/done on this one (see pics). It may have been done by Phil Ciricco, the synth wizard at CMS. The quality workmanship of the switches/pots installed is evident, although I can’t say for certain:
3620 KYBD- 2 switches added on right side of controls. Function? Not sure.
VCF Potentiometer- Perhaps variable KYBD voltage control? Not sure.
ADSR- A switch installed and Sustain and Release output jacks? Not sure.
The buyer of this unit will need to invest some time and money in testing, calibration, and possibly some repairs, however the Arp 2601’s are rare and well worth the investment. All the switches, knobs are complete and the tolex has no major tears or holes. Some of the slide potentiometers are a little sticky- none are frozen, but they will need to be professionally cleaned and lubed. This unit looks excellent for being almost 40 years old- as if it lived in a recording studio most of it’s life! What you see in the pictures is what you’ll get. It is being sold as with no warranties whatsoever. I will securely pack the unit in two boxes (main unit and keyboard) and insure it for shipment to the lower 48 States of the USA only. “Original Arp Axe. Sonically Amazing and functionality, all working perfectly. Runs from 240V 3prong Aus power plug. On/Off light stays off now. Cosmetically there is a wood chipped on the top left panel, it seems that only the timber itself was damaged, and 2 slider coloured plastic covers are missing-pulse width mod and vcd freq. Always has been looked after and in great shape, although I bought a copy of the 12 page service manual online, it has cool info like calibration points, comes with it. “Arp Odyssey MKII Model 2813 in Superb Condition!
This is a beautiful, super-clean, all-original vintage ArpOdyssey MK II, 2813.This is an excellent opportunity for a collector, as well as a musician looking for a high quality, powerful musical instrument.
Serial number 0786, produced in 1976.
It has lived in my air conditioned, smoke-free,humidity-controlled studio since 2011. I purchased it in 2011 from the second owner, and it was in great shape. I have kept it in near-perfect condition, and had it serviced by Wine Country Sequential in San Jose, CA:
1. General maintenance, tuning, cleaned key contacts andsliders, repaired high pass filter slider.
2. Rubber key stops replaced.
3. Control panel potentiometers replaced
4. Field effect transistor in the Sample and Hold moduler eplaced
5. Replacement of the tantalum capacitors

“This synth sounds amazing! Much better than the Korg Odyssey reissue, I compared them a/b, the reissue is great, but there is something in the tone of the original that is richer and more alive. I’ve used this synth for a ton of recordings, and it sounds amazing, rock solid tuning, keybed feels great, just a great piece of gear. Only selling because I bought some more expensive vintage gear. Light and easy to transport, comes with top cover plate for easy gigging. The sliders on this can be a little stiff, with minor scratchiness but really minor for a bit of gear this old, great condition. Only small issue is the pwm mod amount slider on one oscillator has the top of the slider broken off, but you can use a key or other small bit of metal to move it to your desired amount, I used it fine like this for all sorts of studio purposes, and if you’re gigging with it, just tie a spare key to the power cord so it’s always there for adjusting that one parameter.” Click here to search for synths on eBay

“This is an ARP Quartet made by Siel. The power button case is broken but it works. The Solo switch is broken and is disengaged. One key is not functioning. All items are labeled. “I replaced over 60 capacitors personally in 2017, and the previous owner recapped the entire synth about in 2008.
This synth is fully functional and sounds exactly how it’s supposed to, but as with any Omni Ive ever seen, the square black buttons do not engage every time. I’ve found that pushing them in in a slightly downward motion is the most effective way to turn them on and off.
I purchased the road case from RoadcasesUSA. It has wheels and two handles and plenty of cushion to protect the synthesizer.
I am including an extra High F key. I am also including the capacitor kit I purchased, which contains every capacitor on the board that I haven’t replaced.

“For sale is a vintage and rare ARP QUADRA. Cosmetically it’s in very good shape. SEE PHOTOS I think it looks absolutely amazing. The graphics are crisp and very little signs of use all around. There are some areas where the black paint is missing/scratched off along the top back edge where the hinge is. The sides have signs of wear along the edges but are mostly along the back edge. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS FOR CONDITION AND PAINT ISSUES. Functionally there are no known issues with the unit, however I am not an expert. The unit powers on, all keys trigger properly, only the sliders in the Phase Shifter / Output Mixer section have been replaced and do not have the knobs/tops on them. All other sliders and panel switches also appear to work properly. The two sliders in the Porta-Mento section are missing knobs/tops. All the touch switches and LEDS function properly. I have played it out the MONO OUT 1/4″ jack sound output however I have not played it out the other outputs. + owner’s manual”

“I’m selling my 1970’s vintage analog string/polyphonic synthesizer – the ARP OMNI II. If you are familiar with The Cars “Good Times Roll” or Joy Division “Love Will Tear Us Apart” you know the legendary sounds the OMNI II is capable of.
This unit was fully serviced and electronically restored by Synth Chaser in San Diego, CA. Nathan is one of America’s foremost experts on ARP OMNI repair (as well as other vintage synths) – and posts videos of his repair and restoration work (including this one) on Youtube.
Besides all the work done to bring this synth back to original ARP 100% glory I also had the optional 4075 filter upgrade done, as well as the SynthChaser Orange LED slider kit installed. Very helpful seeing all the slider settings onstage, having the sliders move easily. Plus having light-up LEDs that match the ARP color scheme looks cool.
As you can imagine, this unit sounds amazing – haunting and period correct.
Here is the rundown of this Omni II and what was done:

All polarized capacitors recapped – 106 caps total.
SynthChaser Orange LED precision slider kit upgrade.
Key bed refurbished: buss bar cleaned, key contacts adjusted, key bed leveled, bushing kit installed.

Optional 4075 Voltage Controlled Filter Enhancement & recap performed

All LED’s replaced to provide uniform brightness.

The front panel, controls and keyboard are all superb and undoubtedly in exceptional original condition for a 2600 of this age. “This module part of the rare the educational series modular version of the arp 2600. It is a single vca but in the context of the 2600 it is a very powerful. The module runs using one 9vdc rectangular batteries.

We had a technician go through it and he replaced the caps, rebuilt the power supply, and replaced some of the ic chips as well. After this the unit would not pass audio. Not sure why at this point.

“This is a beautiful early 70’s Tonus branded ARP Odyssey Mark 1, the most desirable of the Odysseys! It is in excellent, Mint minus shape for its age- you won’t find a nicer example of these fantastic analog synths. It has been used lightly in a smoke-free private recording studio. There are very minor signs of use, to be expected from its age. All functions work fine. Occasionally I noticed a little noise when moving the sliders. A tech advised me that this was a simple fix of spraying the sliders internally but I decided not to do it as it wasn’t a problem for me. Two of the colored slider covers are cracked. These little plastic covers can be found on Ebay and in no way affect the functions of the sliders.These Odysseys are fantastic sounding synths- huge, warm, analog sound and it’s no wonder they were embraced by many rock artists like Joe Walsh, ELO, Steve Miller, etc. as well as Jazz artists like Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock. This synth is in fine working condition and in beautiful looking shape. Because of its vintage, I am selling this “As Is”. Item will be packed carefully and double boxed. ” This is an Arp Omni I from the 70’s. It sounds phenomenal. This unit was fully serviced 2 years ago, and brought up to spec – every electrolytic capacitor in the synth was replaced, all of the slider switches were cleaned etc. Since then, I’ve only used it my studio.
I went through everything and it works perfectly with exception of the attack slider, which seems to do nothing and is set on a fast attack. This is probably an easy fix. Other than that, as far as I can tell, every button, slider & key work properly. Some of the sliders are missing the top piece and there are some markings on the top of it. Please see photos for the cosmetic condition.”
