“WORKING CONDITION: Very Good – All the keys and controls are responsive. However, the joystick controller sometimes triggers even when not being touched. Otherwise, everything is functional and currently in very good physical condition.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: Excellent – A few minor abrasions can be seen mainly on the wooden panels of the synth. However, everything is well-kept, intact, and ready for action. Overall, the physical condition is excellent.

“Purchased at a local estate sale. Took it home and plugged it into an amp. It seems to function well, although a few of the upper keys seemed a little touchy , meaning that I didn’t hear anything, and then pressed it again and heard it, sometimes going in and out. Not sure what that means. There is also one of the middle keys which is raised a little more than the others. Maybe something under it. Just can’t see anything with a flashlight. I am not at all knowledgeable about this type of thing, so I am trying to describe to the best of my knowledge. There are a flew blemishes on the sides as well as the base of the synthesizer, as I showed in some of the photos. One more thing, is that the power cord has electrical tape in a number of places. It seems pretty secure though. I plugged it in, and it worked fine. I did see photos of other identical synthesizers , and it looks like a few stickers are missing . This beautiful CR-78 has just been fully checked and serviced by a former Roland technician who established Roland’s first service department in Ontario, Canada. It’s now ready to go to a new home.

All push buttons, potentiometers, and sliders were cleaned and lubricated. All move without introducing any noise or static into the signal chain. Input and output jacks were all cleaned and checked. All voices work and sound as they should – analog sexy. The programming section is fully operational and ready for you to program your own rhythms.

As for the condition, the pictures tell the story. The front panel is pristine – no scratches, marks or oxidization. The wood case is also in amazing condition and has the original rubber feet. (The 2 metal identification plates still have the protective plastic film on them!)
