Lucky you! A genuine Kiwi Juno is finally for sale on Reverb again!
These almost never come up and never are they this clean and serviced. This one was 100% overhauled and serviced head to toe just for this sale. Probably the cleanest Juno 106 kiwi for sale anywhere in the world.
Super advanced version of the already amazing Juno106 now with added features such as a sequencer, arpeggiator and more patches! Tons of general repairs done as well (listed below). This one is really clean and has zero issues at all. It started as a very clean stock Juno 106 prior to the mods.
The last 7 photos show many of the old parts that were removed during the overhaul and replaced with brand new components. No other Juno has had so much attention and restoration than this synth. It should last many decades to come without any need for service.
During the Kiwi modification, the unit was also recapped, as you can see in the photos. The old chorus bbd chips were also upgraded to the superior XVIVE MN3009 chorus BBD chips. The expensive voice chips were also swapped for new ones. It also has many new sliders installed as shown, new pots and new tactile buttons. Any of the buttons that required a harder push were just replaced. New button caps were also added. New LED‘s were swapped out and the LCD is also new and quite brighter than the original. New 3 prong IEC jack was added (with a spring loaded dust cover door!). The unit was then professionally re-tuned properly. Most people just do the kiwi install and do not tune it properly because it is a daunting procedure, although quite necessary for proper voltage suplies to all the new component topology. All of this has been done, making this unit the coolest and most reliable 106 ever sold on Reverb to date.
It also includes the original PCB board to go back to stock if desired, not that you ever will 😉 The original main board is wrapped in bubble wrap in the original kiwi mod box and the original cpu is in the bag mounted to the swap back board. “WORKING CONDITION: Excellent – Recently serviced and works great. All of the keys, controls, and parameters across the synth are fully functional and in excellent working condition.
PHYSICAL CONDITION: Good – There are some notable scuffs, scratches and abrasions around the chassis of the keyboard. Otherwise pretty clean and all parts are nicely intact and structurally sound. Each key and button respond nicely and are ready for action. Overall the current physical condition is good.

“Ensoniq ESQ-1 with Anvil-style ROAD CASE, metal version, OS 3.5, works but needs a little TLC. Has been in it’s hard case since I retired a few years back. Most recently, it was only used as a MIDI controller keyboard for a Roland Sound Canvas module. Clean, inside and out, but filters need TLC (picture) and shows a low battery warning. All keys, buttons and soft keys work without issue – but – whether a note or multiple notes will make a sound on any given key press is iffy, maybe the filter issue or needs a capacitor replaced. This didn’t affect the MIDI at all when last used, though. The tour style case alone is over $500 new (Gator) and weighs just as much as the keyboard. Includes the pictured cartridges, sequencer expansion cartridge is installed, and functioning Ensoniq sustain pedal. This auction is for an EMU Systems SP-12 Sampling Drum Machine.
It is a fully upgraded TURBO edition (Software version 2.6) unit with 5 seconds of sampling time.
Original stock sounds built it in, it is ready to go out of the box.
The unit was last serviced by Bruce Forat.
Note that this is a custom SP-12.
Upgrades include a new VFD display, Blue LED’s, Custom button color scheme, metal skirted knobs and a black housing.
All outputs work, filters work, knobs and sliders all in good working condition.
You don’t see SP-12’s with a black finish often, the customization was done professionally as were all the electronic upgrades.
