“Up for sale, a Yamaha CS-15 vintage duophonic analog synthesizer in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original case. A step up from the CS-10, the CS-15 is great for strange blips, bass lines, and tiny high-pass sounds, with a distinct sonic range all its own. The CS-15 is particularly user-friendly, with a knob, switch, or slider dedicated to every function. This synth boasts two multimode filters, and while it’s a duophonic/bitimbral synth “on paper,” a connection to CV is required to get the extra voice. Each of the two VCOs has its own CV/Gate control.
The CS-15 offers exceptional flexibility of the VCFs and the routings to the filters and envelopes. You can route VCO 1 to both VCFs and the VCFs to any of the envelopes positive or negative voltage. The VCFs are 12 dB/Oct and are switchable between low, band, or high-pass. They are the key to the sonic properties of the Yamaha CS family. Other features are noise, external-in for processing other sounds, LFO with Sample & Hold (for those bubbling sounds) and an individual auto-bend for the VCOs.
Cleaned and calibrated, this vintage synth functions exactly as it should and has been outfitted with a modern power transformer to run reliably on USA 120v power. As the photos can attest, this synth is extremely clean cosmetically, with bright white level keys and all switches, sliders, and knobs intact. The enclosure shows only a couple minor scuffs, and this CS-15 is ready for stage and studio use.
The original black tolex carry case is equally as clean as the synth with a blush plush interior and flawless Yamaha silkscreen on the lid.” Click here to visit listing on eBay
