” You are bidding on my Yamaha DX7 ii D. I’ve owned this for around five years and it is in excellent cosmetic condition for a 30+ year old synth.
In the time I’ve had it, it has been kept in a pet free, smoke free home studio and stored beneath a vinyl cover which I had shipped from the States when not in use.
This is a fantastic example of 80s FM synthesis, improving on the original DX7 in a number of ways. The keyboard feels great and it’s a joy to play. The only tiny issues to mention are that the numbered keys sometimes take a second press to get the result you want, but they all work and you can select all the presets. During testing, I noticed that the left channel was weaker than the right channel. Never noticed this when playing through an amp – but it is noticeable with headphones on so I feel it’s only fair to mention it. It may be a setting on the synth, but I genuinely don’t know.
MIDI and sustain both function as they should. I’ve had this running into my interface running Cubase 10 Pro, so it is still very recordable.
I know FM synthesis can be a bit Marmite, but if you’re looking to nail the sound of the 80s, this is what you need. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay
