“100% analog, old-school duophonic nastiness! Created in 1976 as an Arp Odyssey clone, Octave added a few of their own features, including the ability to (sort of) play the 2 oscillators independently, but the real character of this instrument comes not in playing melodies but in the distinct, gnarly filter and the myriad modulation possibilities on this instrument. You can make the 2 VCOs modulate each other, then modulate the filter, which is also modulated by the LFO and the repeating AR envelope, and tweak all kinds of amazing drone textures into life. I’ll really miss this beauty, but truth be told, it needs some love. I had it serviced about 8 years ago when I first bought it, but it seems the oscillators do not sound without the filter Q being at max, and the volume overall is low, so I suspect the VCA may need replacing. You can definitely get great sounds out of this beast as-is, but for maximum potential, it will need some love from a technician.” Click here to search for synths on eBay
