“This listing for a gently used Yamaha Professional TX216 Midi Rack fully loaded with 8 sound cards. The unit is a Working unit.
We got this in a large lot of Audio Recording gear that came from a local high end recording studio. We have tested it. It appears to be working. We plugged it into a Midi capable synth and was able to get sound out of it.
I know that this is a fairly rare unit especially running. We have only seen one other over the years. Synth players will be sure to love it.
We will be including a printed manual with the unit as well as the service manual.
We tested the unit by plugging it in, plugging in a midi capable synth to it and was able to reproduce sound from the unit into some test speakers. So you know we are not pro midi folks. Everything seemed to be working fine during our initial testing.
We listed this item last week but pulled the listing as one of our customers noticed the 8th card had an error light in the picture with the alpha-numerical display showing a “4”. Which we left this picture in this listing. The service manual says it is a replace battery error code.
Also the service manual had a list of self diagnostic tests you can perform on each card. We performed those tests and discovered that Card number 8 would not allow us to enter into the diagnostic testing mode. We tried 3 times.
At this point we slid card 7 and 8 out and swapped their locations. The problem followed card 8. So we slid card 7 back into it’s position and pulled card 8. We pulled the dead battery out….and it was flat dead. Discarded it and installed a battery clip along with a new battery so in the future the battery could be more easily changed.
We slid the card back into the rack. At this point the Midi rack still showed card 8 had an error code 4. However this time the card allowed us to enter into self diagnostic testing. All 8 cards pass the self diagnostic testing however card 8 still shows a low battery error code.” Click here to visit listing on eBay
