“Roland SBX80 Sync Box
Ex Hire – Tested. Working.
Used for driving older sequencers, drum machines etc. – Can either be a slave to Timecode, or can be a Master sync box sending out MIDI Clock, Roland DIN Sync (for TB303, TR808 etc) and Timebase clock (TTL pulse for older synths and sequencers).
I have tested it with a TR707; so can confirm it generates MIDI Clock and Roland DIN Sync. – I’ve also tested it both reading and writing SMPTE timecode.
Couple of things to note for those unfamiliar. –
This unit is pre-MTC… – so it’s MIDI output is MIDI Clock (not MIDI Timecode)
Remember that Roland DIN Sync leads use the same connectors as MIDI lead… but beware the lead can be different (DIN Sync cables require all pins to be connected while MIDI cables don’t).” Click here to visit listing on eBay
